Great. Just what we need-- more advertising in confined spaces.

If the airlines would use this revenue to hold (or lower) fares, that would be one thing. They won't, though-- you don't see them lowering fares based on the revenue they derive from partnering arrangments with long distance companies, car rental companies, etc., do you?

My vote: NO WAY.

You decision-makers out there: Boycott Advent Marketing til they relent with this inanity.

The ads themselves, however tasteful, are going to get beat-up, torn, soiled, etc., and look like hell.

I ride public transit (namely, NYC subway and PATH) enough to get overhead banners screaming down at me. "NO thanks, Dr. Zizmor."

Better yet, suggest Advent to get on the ball with in-flight magazine accounts - that's what they're for. I could use some "tasteful and elegant" ads other than free logo watches and Karass negotiation courses...

Well, pretty much anything is for sale, at the right price. It just scares me how low the prices is, sometimes.

I'm pretty tired of ads everywhere. I'd certainly pay $25 to not have ads plastered in the tube, but probably not $2500. It gets trickier if you ask me about $250. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Advertising is everywhere. We are actually better off in America than a lot of places...I still get a kick remembering all of the Bundeslig (German pro hoops) games I went to during 4+ years of living in Germany and the jerseys on the players COVERED with ads for Philips, Commerzbank, BMW, Bayer, well you get the picture. Could you imagine Dennis Rodman with a jersey like that? On second thought, let's not go there!

If it were Dennis Rodman it wouldn't be only on his jersey that I would expect to see the ad. How much does head space or should I say hair space go for these days? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hey MVIC, LMAO. Who said people in St. Louis have no sense of humor? Happy 4th!

Happy one to you and yours too Spartacus http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
