MCI 25K!

Well, I think this is great news!!!!! I just spoke with Brandon from MCI and explained that I would like to stay with MCI but would like to get the 25K promo again without having to cancel and resign otherwise I was switching to AT&T. So, he spoke with his supervisor and got the okay to do it so I would remain with MCI. This rep is fantastic, he eliminated my account and re-entered as a new account so I could get my miles! You will get a new MCI calling card and PIN but it seems worth it for the miles!

do you know code was used? I "reissued" several numbers but had one that wasn't giving me miles. I e-mailed and was told the account was not eligible. I called and got a rep who said Illinois wasn't eligible. I got off the phone and called back and spoke to someone who said everything was listed and I should have gotten the miles. So we will see.The code I got was ZAT5 which should give me 2500 over 10 months.

I spoke with the MCI agent and its the same deal as last time, 5K for 5 months. From reading the last posts, I noticed that it depends on the customer service rep that you get and often times you get different answers. Brandon just signed me up. It was the old code from before, Z25 (I'll look it up and post it). Contact Brandon at his email and based upon my experience, you should get the 25K regardless of where you live.

The code for American Airlines is Z25A. The rest are posted at the link above. He did offer me the 10K and said that the 25K promo expired. I just stated that I wanted the same deal, 25K per phone number or I would switch. He and his supervisor understood that if they wanted to keep me, I wanted 25K and knew all I had to do was switch for one month and go back to MCI. Why fool around, just delete my account, start fresh again, and I stay with MCI then we're both happy. It worked! Now to see if they post!

MCI reps have e-mail addresses that end in 'aol.com'?

TAKEOFF2DAY Mar 4, 2000 1:36 am

I think its his personal email. They get a commission when someone signs up and since he doesn't have an extension, he seems to want to use his personal email.

snackyx Mar 4, 2000 7:07 am

As with all dealings with MCI, just make sure the miles are posted to your account!

wannago Mar 4, 2000 7:43 am

I got a verbal commitment from a supervisor - have the name somewhere - for 25k for switching back to MCI but then got an email saying only eligible for 10k and apologizing for inconvenience and mistaken information http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif I'll probably stay long enough to get the first 5k all at once and be looking for a better deal in the meantime. However, even though I eventually ended up with over 25k Northwest miles with Sprint they were really really really a pain to deal with!

Axelerator Mar 22, 2000 11:09 am

I spoke to Brandon but the 25K promo is for AA only. As I am with UA I got 10K but this is still better than the published deal with 6K. Thanks a lot Rosemarie!

Cottonpicker Mar 22, 2000 1:45 pm

Hope you get the miles......I was promised and additional 5k in December of 99......
guess what?....nothing....but the put off from MCI.....time after time after time!

cabrits Mar 23, 2000 1:28 am

hi. i email brandon today, and here is the exact response i received the same day..

"Let me explain, it won't work. The 25k promo ended over a month ago, now
there are new promos however I cannot call people back from e-mail. If you
would simply call 1-800-444-3333 I'm sure someone there will gladlly post
some extra bonuses just for staying...

Sorry,
Brandon"

is the mci 25k promo with AA (code: z25a) really over? oh well.. guess it was only good while it was available..

glee Mar 23, 2000 12:34 pm

Does anyone have the info for 25k miles on northwest through sprint?

thanks

carlyn Mar 23, 2000 1:09 pm

Look at the Sprint board & you'll see lots of msgs about it.

pierre mclopez Mar 23, 2000 3:07 pm

Tried 800-444-3333 per Brandon in this thread. The rep said I'd already gotten 25K Delta miles and he couldn't give any more. Anybody had any better luck? What are the new promos for retention which Brandon alluded?

bdschobel Mar 24, 2000 5:19 pm

I just called MCI. I've been a cistomer, with 4 lines, since November 1998. I told them that AT&T had made an offer to me to switch, and asked what they would do to keep me. They offered 15,000 Delta miles over 5 months (in a complicated form, but who cares). I took it. I didn't want to switch anyway!

I have been trying to get 25000 miles for enrolling as an MCI customer with no luck, until today. After dialing 800 754 7076 several times and only being offered 10000 miles, I stated my case to another csr. He said "no problem" I can give you 25000 miles to sign up. When I told him that each time called yielded different mileage results, he said most csr's don't know about the offers available. No code was needed for the offer, he just punched the miles in and said I am good to go. Just proves that it pays to keep dialing until you get results.

Maybe I should pay closer attention to the dates on the posts. Dah!!! Brandon won't call, but I'll call the 800 number given by palmtree tomorrow. Will update everyone and let you know. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Dear All.
The mci rep that I used since December is great and she did it again on Tuesday.
1. I got 35 K for each of my 5 lines and all have started to post (32,520 total as of 3/22/00)I gave her a new account on Tuesday and there were no catches.
2. She watches my account for billing errors, if I catch them I email her the amount and the dates and why and she issues the credit I receive a letter in the mail confirming the credit. So far she has caught all the errors first. No more 2 hour calls to MCI
3. She uses a combination of codes for the miles so I get all the miles and I can email her and ask about my miles when ever I like.

Want more email her [email protected]
She was a great help to me!!!!!!

Called MCI this morning to verify my account information. I will not get 25000 miles from MCI to switch long distance. Seems the csr just told me what I wanted to hear. My AA frequent flyer # was not entered on the account and only 11000 miles were to be credited. Make sure to call the next day and verify all the promises that were made are actually in the system. A supervisor stated that this type of lying goes on all the time.

upandaway Mar 25, 2000 9:00 am

I check my milage with AA so a different mci rep doesn't mess something up. I know they track the number of times that you call in at mci. So far the miles have been posting.

brandonturbo35 Mar 25, 2000 1:32 pm

Hi,
This is Brandon, the one who's PERSONAL E-MAIL ADDY has been posted on this Flyer Freak board. I only gave Rosmarie permission to give my addy to her Uncle, that is what she asked, and that is what I agreed to so that I could help him out. If any of you have questions STOP E-MAILING ME! Call 1-800-444-3333 and a rep will help you out....By the way the 25k miles only applied to American Airlines, and was ONLY for NEW LINES, and NEW CUSTOMERS, so if you're with MCI you were never qualified for this, unless you have a seperate line. Also that promo has EXPIRED! It ended over a month ago, there are new promos available, if you will call that 1-800 # I'm sure a rep will work something out. I thank you for your time and apologize for the confusion, but it's totally an invasion of my privacy for all these calls to come through my personal e-mail, any other questions if you are really into the whole net searching thing, which going on this site demonstrates, please feel free to go to Worldcom.com and check out some other extra bonuses, and promos.....

Thank You For Understanding...

Yikes, Rosemarie what happened??? Didn't mean to offend you Brandon. At this time I think it would be appropriate for Rosemarie to go back and delete his email address.

keithnj973 Mar 25, 2000 4:29 pm

Well duh.

brandonturbo35 Mar 25, 2000 10:25 pm

thanks for the support everyone, you've given me new faith in this site, and it's members, I have no problem answering questions, but it just got out of control, especially when people email ya like 3-4 times a day...lol, anyways, also a little note, that promo is over if you talk to the right people you can get up to 15k miles on nearly any airlines, but it's tricky, just call the # 1-800-444-333 and a rep will get ya set up...

thanks, http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

No problem Brandon, I for one wrote you and found your reply very informative. I normally do call the 800 numbers for the promotions. I believe we just wanted someone as helpful as you earn as much in commission as possible.

Thanks for all your input, both Rosemarie and Brandon!

TAKEOFF2DAY Mar 26, 2000 12:56 am

Brandon,

I wish to give you my sincere apologies and was just trying to help out the folks here and you since I was under the impression that you were paid on commission. I have edited my original message to remove your email address. Again, my sincere apologies.

After being assured that I would get the 25K bonus back in January, I now learn that MCI has lied again after seeing nothing posted to my account. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Their "supervisors" keep assuring me that they'll keep trying to back date my miles as of January and for me to keep calling back. Unfortunately they can't give me the 25K bonus, only the 10K bonus. I'm still waiting. MCI is a big lesson in non-attachment. I've had enough of them.
