Dragonwind -- If you are not already a LatinPass member, you are ineligible for the bonus.

Djlawman Apr 20, 2000 7:49 pm

Dragon--unless you are already a member of Latin Pass as of 3/20, you are not eligible. Go to www.latinpass.com look at promotions, then mileage offer. Sorry.

Mileage Junkie:

You pick up the MGA-MIA segment as part of flight TA515 leaving from GUA. It goes GUA-SAL-MGA-MIA with a change of planes in SAL, but by booking this way, you get a better fare by using all Grupo Taca airlines.

If I book Taca 514 from MIA-SAL (via MGA) will that be good for the Nica requirement?
I originally booked MIA-MGA then separate tickets for MGA-SAL, SAL-GUA BUT we had to
cancel that at the last minute.

Thanks!

Does a US Airways shuttle flight qualify for Latin Pass mileage ? I need a cheap partner segment. US Airways website has a $99. RT from NYC to WAS with 5000 bonus miles for web booking.

Schutze: US airways shuttle flights do qualify but please beaware the 5000 bonus miles may trip you up. To get the 5000 bonus miles you need to put in your US FF#. Make sure this will not impact your flights when you put in your LP number. If you do not put in your LP FF# you will have to go through extra work to get it posted --- such as sending in original boarding passes and ticket stubs.

My advice on LatinPass is keep everything pure. Do not try to earn FF miles on any other airline even if that segment is not requried for the LP bonus.

I did it! Thanks to all the great advice on this BB I have scheduled and ticketed the MM run. I followed a similar schedule as Toppshelf as it seemed to be the best for relaxation and miles! I don't speak Spanish - anyone got some good ideas? I plan to have a friend translate a variety of questions I may have so I can read them off at the needed time. Please keep the experiences and advice coming from those who have just returned!

Tango, I intended to have my wife purchase the ticket (as she has some US miles) and get the bonus under her Dividend account. The actual ticket will be in my name with my LP munber. Do you think this will work ?

It should work, just make sure you save all documents in regards to tickets and such.

Schutzee... I hope it works for you...but I've never had luck with getting the US Air miles for booking a flight for someone else.
Let us know if it works!
The problem was that US Air uses the FF number of the traveler and the record of the reservation to determine who gets the online bonus. BUT you never know...

This may seem obvious, but I just wanted to pass on what a problem it can be if one of the airlines (TWA in my case) posts miles to their account instead of Latin Pass. Leaving Maui I tried to get my Latin Pass number entered every step of the way with TWA, right up until the last boarding call at the gate. (I had given the number when I booked the flight also) Nobody here had heard of Latin Pass and they all kept telling me that their systems wouldn't accept the number. When I finally had to board, the person at the gate said that she would make sure it was taken care of. Well it wasn't, and the miles posted to TWA instead of Latin Pass. Latin Pass told me that they would absolutely not accept boarding passes for flights that have already been posted to another FF account and TWA was the only one that could correct the problem. TWA kept telling me that once something was posted it couldn't be changed, even though, this was their fault. Finally I found a supervisor who agreed to help-I had to send my boarding passes in to TWA last week. The miles still haven't been transferred, but I am hoping that they will be without any futher problems. I had the same thing occur in MIA as far as the agents being clueless. This time I called the mileage desk from the gate and they were able to enter the Latin Pass number while I was on the phone before my flight departed. After I got off the phone, I double checked with the agent at the gate and the LP number showed up as being entered. The same thing happened with some of my hotels, but they didn't have a problem correcting it. Hope this helps someone out there.

Have your hotel stays posted yet??

SFO_FT Apr 23, 2000 3:51 pm

Am in the middle of my mileage run-- now in Cuzco for a night. Took two TW flights and the key is to have the LatinPass number input as LP. LP(my number) did print on my two TW flight boarding passes. Nothing showed on my National BP, though I´m not stressed about that one.

Also used the LP code for Avis and the other airline/hotel partner I´ve dealt with.

Tango Apr 24, 2000 9:05 am

Make sure you do your homework before you go and verify your LP account information has been correctly inputed into your PNR(s) before you go. If you have an itinerary with multiple airline segments, you have to add a seperate entry into the record for each of the airlines(a long process). If you have everything correctly posted in the PNR, you will save yourself lots of time (and in the case of TWA and US Air, lots of grief)upon check in.
