What are Starwood points?
I'm brand new to this board. Could someone direct me to more info about "starwood points"? Also, more about click rewards points? How do they work? Also, any info on a good credit card for miles would be appreciated. It looks like the platinum card for Capitalone is pretty good, but can't get all the details I want--like miles needed to Mexico/Caribbean. Currently I have the Aadvantage Visa, but want to get away from the blackout dates, etc. Thanks!

You might want to get a Delta Skymiles card first - no fee first year and 10,000 miles. After you get the miles, you can "change" product to a starwoods which is free and the points you collect can be transferred to lots of mileage programs. Clickrewards are points you get for making purchases on-line. This can be from their web-site, or from another web-site. Right now new members can a bonus of 3 points per. So you might want to go to their site. www.clickrewards.com -and then also sign up at www.greenpoints.com. For purchases from sparks.com you would get greenpoints which can be used to buy AA and DL and clickrewards from their site. There are lots of things like that.

Thanks for the info. Upon examination of the information, it appears as though there is an annual fee. Do you know for sure that the fee is waived for the first year? Also, how do points end up in Starwood? Do they first show up in the Delta account (after initial use) and then you need to transfer them to Starwood? Thanks again for being so helpful (as always!!!)

The phone number for the AMEX Delta skymiles card is 1-800-482-9500. The fee is waived for the first year, and you get 10,000 miles. It is a different card from the starwoods card and points cannot be transferred between them. However, once you get 10,000 DL miles, you could "change product" with Delta and switch it to starwoods, and get 1000 points with first use. You will then be involved in two different programs. You cannot transfer starwoods to Delta, but they can to most other airline programs. If you have NO interest in DL miles, then go straight ahead and just apply for the starpoints card.
