The advantge of PointClick is that one can fire off several clicks to open new windows to the links, and let that happen in the background. In the meantime you can do other things, like watch TV as someone else said.

I've gone through all the links in 6 from all 12 categories, earning almost $5. I didn't get the tour bonus though, but I think If I can keep clicking regularly, I should make around $10/day which is $20 of purchasing power. After 10 days I'll be able to get round-trip ticket for $200 ( which is no problem for me, since I usually fly on routes which cost me ~$200 )
Ha ha, Want to reach Platinum this year without spending any money ? = Join PointClick.com http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by Damian (edited 01-19-2000).] |
Just a short update ..
You can really earn MONEY ! This is the second day I've been doing this and my account has a purchasing power of $47.00 ! By the way, I've not reffered anyone yet. So, tell me what you guys think about this ? |
So far so good, but has anyone cashed in yet? How long does it take (for real) from the time you purchase something and submit your info until you get a check? Does anyone have experience w/redeeming purchasing power or cash? (I guess after months of dealing with Mypoints, I tend to be sceptical about *any* internet surfing company...)

It seems that Pointclick.com quietly updated their TOS yesterday:
* To receive credit for a particular click, you must stay on the linked page a minimum of 20 seconds. * You will not be given credit for entering any given Web site after the third time per day (i.e., no more than 3 unique user sessions per day on any given Web site.) * You will not be given credit for consecutive sessions on any given Web site (i.e., the maximum of 3 sessions per day cannot be in succession, and consecutive sessions will count as only one session). * You can earn up to $10 per day ($10 cash, $20 Purchasing Power). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif http://www.pointclick.com/signup/terms.jsp $10 or $20/day (depending on how you look at it) is nothing to sneeze at, but I'm curious to hear whether others are able to reach that limit...? It's not really clear what they're classifying as a "session." |
Ehhh ...
I've made over $60 of purchasing power since Wendesday night and I thought I'll get myself a ticket at the end of the week, but seems that I'll have to change my plans http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Too bad they changed the minimum you can make a day http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Next, they will say that you have to be running Unix or Linux to be able to earn http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif [This message has been edited by Damian (edited 01-21-2000).] |
I just purchased a book on Amazon.com thru PointClick and sent in my redemption form. I will let you guys know what happens. I know they don't send out checks till the end of the month, but I thought I better try buying something at a low price before I go for a big ticket item like an airline ticket or rental car. I'll post when I receive my redemption.

Is the Pointclick site broken already? Since yesterday, my account appears to be stuck, and nothing seems to accrue as a result of the surfing I've done (yes, I'm aware that the rules have changed and you need to spend at least 20 seconds on each site).
Does anyone have a similar problem? Also, I've requested a reimbursement for a purchase and will keep you all posted on the developments. Happy Monday everyone! [This message has been edited by honu (edited 01-24-2000).] |

Yes, I seem to be having the same problem. My account was stuck at Friday's closing level until this morning. I'm slowly starting to earn again. I've been leaving the sites up for much more than 20 seconds. Maybe that's the trick. Yet another site that seemed promising is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth <sigh>. |
I think that there have been problems since Sunday. I do not know if they are slow to credit, or if they have changed rules about how you accrue points (for example if they disallow opening a new window).
I was building my points for Amazon, and Amazon is gone from the list of merchants http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif |
I did 4 clicks (each in a new background window) today and my spending balance went up 20cents, so its about 5 cents per click.
Now that Amazon is gone are there any useful sites (apart from travel)? One site that caught my eye was cyberrebate. [This message has been edited by PG (edited 01-24-2000).] |
I logged in to my pointclick.com account a few minutes ago, and found this message:
Due to processing delays, some account balances have not been updated (or have been partially updated) since Saturday January 22, 2000. All clicks are being tracked and information will be updated shortly. Thank you for your patience. |

I just came in here to post the exact same message, I guess you are just a bit quicker than me http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Well, I guess we just have to wait and see what happens. FlyBabe ~~~~~~ |
I received my reimbursement check today for a purchase I made in January. I also bought a computer from ecost thru pointclick this week. Now I see they send your reimbursement in 48 hours. I should see mine on Tues, (since Mon. no mail, federal holiday). I love pointclick. I have made more money with this site than any other site. Even better than Freeride!!! Anyone else wanting to join, please use my referral ID, [email protected] Thanks
