Point Click and a free airline ticket

Has anyone joined www.pointclick.com? It is the greatest site for earning money. Just click on web sites and get paid. But, the best part is, you can take your cash, or if you purchase from one of the sites they have listed, they will double your money. They have a catagory called travel/recreation that lists hotel and airline ticket web sites. My sister and I both do this and are going to purchase airline tickets. My totals are growing quite fast and it won't be too long before I can do that. They also have listed car rental sites and lots of travel accessories. Try it out, sign up and get $5 right away and another $5 for touring the site!!! Sign up under me if you want, [email protected]. They give $3 for each active referral. Good Luck everyone!!!

wannago Jan 16, 2000 10:39 am

I signed up right after the first of the year and my totals are going up, too. Since this is my first month, though, don't know how good they are about paying. Here's hoping. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

PG Jan 16, 2000 12:12 pm

This seems to be a good site, though I have not redeemed yet either. I have about $40 in spending money (in about a month). Someone said that you could get upto $35 per day, but for anything approaching that you need to click a lot. I haven't done the analysis, but it seems to be better than Freeride.

cmwdjw-- You just got a referal!

cmwdjw Jan 16, 2000 8:22 pm

Thanks for the referral!!!! You are going to love this program. It is my favorite money maker on the web. It is easy to build up your account and there are tons of places to spend it or cash in!

honu Jan 16, 2000 8:28 pm

cmwdjw,

make that two referrals!

LOL that was not a tour.. it was a site by site click fest.. for only $5!! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

FlyBabe Jan 17, 2000 10:24 am

cmwdjw,

I really like this pointclick thing, it's easy and fun. I found the coolest web site on the tour! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif I also made $10.07 already! And I just signed up last night. Even though the tour took more than an hour it was worth it!
Thanx! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks for all the referrals. I have been making sure I spend some time on Point Click everyday, because it is so easy to make money. There are some really great sites to spend your money on. Everything from airline tickets, rental cars to toys and books. They did have www.cyberrates listed for a while and they have alot of items with 100% rebates. It would be really great to order from them using you point click dollars.

FlyBabe Jan 17, 2000 10:55 pm

Pointclick.com is really great, but if you do not use it properly you are just wasting your time. You have to
stay at one page for at least 8 seconds so u can earn your money, using the back or refresh button doesn't
count, and to get money from referrals the person has to be an active pointclick member and make at least
$25. with them.

The best part of it all is that they will double the money u make if you decide to spend it at one of their
web sites.
You can also ask them to send you a check, that is really cool http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

If you become a member of pointclick.com be sure to read all the rules!

I like to do Pointclick while watching tv or reading. I just keep clicking away and it adds up fast!!

Carl Jan 18, 2000 10:39 pm

I still don't get it. I've been using PointClick off and on for several weeks (admittedly not every single day) and have earned a grand total of less than $10. I've read these stories of people making $50 every day, and I don't see how that's possible without spending your entire life doing nothing but waiting on their pages to load. Their entire site is intolerably slow, and I can't justify spending four minutes to load one page. Forget about waiting 8 seconds on a page when it takes five minutes to load it. I've got a DSL line, and whenever I do speed tests, it averages about 1.4Mbps. How on Earth do people use Pointclick with 56k modems or worse? It makes me feel like I'm using AOL with a 14.4 modem again.

Despite the ads, I never got $5 for signing up. I did get $5 for taking the tour (which did take an hour or more). I've emailed them repeatedly asking why I didn't get the signup money and why my balance only seems to increase by pennies a day, but they've never replied to me once. That alone makes me think this is a scam.

How much are you earning on a daily basis and does anyone personally know someone who's gotten reimbursements from them? When are you using the site that you can actually make your way through it while watching TV? I'd have to watch a movie marathon and still would only be halfway through the site. I've tried all hours and it's always miserably slow. Sometimes their servers will even time out and give up loading a page at all.

I know I can't be the only one in the extremely frustrated category...right???

Atomic Jan 18, 2000 11:37 pm

I got my $10.01 for signing up and taking the tour which took me maybe 30 mins total (with a 56k modem), and for that I thank you CMJDW.

I guess my question lies in the redemption area, as I don't see anywhere to redeem my value-added dollars for miles.

I assume your reference to getting a plane ticket has nothing to do with receiving a quid-pro-quo value on your investment (1 for one), as I just can't see how that possible.

Could this entire thread just be a shameless plug?

Tell me I'm wrong!

Cheers.

cmwdjw Jan 19, 2000 4:30 am

There is no site to redeem your dollars for "Miles", but there are several sites under the travel catagory to buy airline tickets! And as far as the site being extremely slow, I have not experienced that. It seems to load just as fast as any other site I use, and I have an old 166 mgh. Keep trying Carl!!!

PG Jan 19, 2000 8:35 am

The advantge of PointClick is that one can fire off several clicks to open new windows to the links, and let that happen in the background. In the meantime you can do other things, like watch TV as someone else said.

Damian Jan 19, 2000 3:38 pm

I've gone through all the links in 6 from all 12 categories, earning almost $5. I didn't get the tour bonus though, but I think If I can keep clicking regularly, I should make around $10/day which is $20 of purchasing power. After 10 days I'll be able to get round-trip ticket for $200 ( which is no problem for me, since I usually fly on routes which cost me ~$200 )

Just a short update ..

You can really earn MONEY !

This is the second day I've been doing this and my account has a purchasing power of $47.00 !

By the way, I've not reffered anyone yet.

So, tell me what you guys think about this ?

honu Jan 20, 2000 7:32 pm

So far so good, but has anyone cashed in yet? How long does it take (for real) from the time you purchase something and submit your info until you get a check? Does anyone have experience w/redeeming purchasing power or cash? (I guess after months of dealing with Mypoints, I tend to be sceptical about *any* internet surfing company...)

For the first time today saw VolumeBuy on the pointclick site - $50 AA certs still there.

Carl Jan 21, 2000 2:33 pm

It seems that Pointclick.com quietly updated their TOS yesterday:

* To receive credit for a particular click, you must stay on the linked page a minimum of 20 seconds.

* You will not be given credit for entering any given Web site after the third time per day (i.e., no more than 3 unique user sessions per day on any given Web site.)

* You will not be given credit for consecutive sessions on any given Web site (i.e., the maximum of 3 sessions per day cannot be in succession, and consecutive sessions will count as only one session).

* You can earn up to $10 per day ($10 cash, $20 Purchasing Power). http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

http://www.pointclick.com/signup/terms.jsp

$10 or $20/day (depending on how you look at it) is nothing to sneeze at, but I'm curious to hear whether others are able to reach that limit...? It's not really clear what they're classifying as a "session."

Damian Jan 21, 2000 2:55 pm

Ehhh ...

I've made over $60 of purchasing power since Wendesday night and I thought I'll get myself a ticket at the end of the week, but seems that I'll have to change my plans http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Too bad they changed the minimum you can make a day http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Next, they will say that you have to be running Unix or Linux to be able to earn http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I just purchased a book on Amazon.com thru PointClick and sent in my redemption form. I will let you guys know what happens. I know they don't send out checks till the end of the month, but I thought I better try buying something at a low price before I go for a big ticket item like an airline ticket or rental car. I'll post when I receive my redemption.

honu Jan 24, 2000 8:11 am

Is the Pointclick site broken already? Since yesterday, my account appears to be stuck, and nothing seems to accrue as a result of the surfing I've done (yes, I'm aware that the rules have changed and you need to spend at least 20 seconds on each site).

Does anyone have a similar problem? Also, I've requested a reimbursement for a purchase and will keep you all posted on the developments.

Happy Monday everyone!

honu:

Yes, I seem to be having the same problem. My account was stuck at Friday's closing level until this morning. I'm slowly starting to earn again. I've been leaving the sites up for much more than 20 seconds. Maybe that's the trick.

Yet another site that seemed promising is turning out to be more trouble than it's worth <sigh>.

PG Jan 24, 2000 10:13 am

I think that there have been problems since Sunday. I do not know if they are slow to credit, or if they have changed rules about how you accrue points (for example if they disallow opening a new window).

I was building my points for Amazon, and Amazon is gone from the list of merchants http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

PG Jan 24, 2000 11:29 am

I did 4 clicks (each in a new background window) today and my spending balance went up 20cents, so its about 5 cents per click.

Now that Amazon is gone are there any useful sites (apart from travel)? One site that caught my eye was cyberrebate.

I logged in to my pointclick.com account a few minutes ago, and found this message:

Due to processing delays, some account balances have not been updated (or have been partially updated) since Saturday January 22, 2000. All clicks are being tracked and information will be updated shortly. Thank you for your patience.
Perhaps all is not lost.

I received my reimbursement check today for a purchase I made in January. I also bought a computer from ecost thru pointclick this week. Now I see they send your reimbursement in 48 hours. I should see mine on Tues, (since Mon. no mail, federal holiday). I love pointclick. I have made more money with this site than any other site. Even better than Freeride!!! Anyone else wanting to join, please use my referral ID, [email protected] Thanks

My husband and I both received our checks, which were for the $50 VolumeBuy AA certificates - bought several http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif so they ended up being free http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif Hated to see VolumeBuy disappear from their lists http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

They may be back, keep watching. I have noticed some web sites come and go. I am going to try and save my $$$$ for an airline ticket this time. I can't believe how fast I could get my account to grow. Just $5 or $10 day really adds up fast!!!
