Well, I now have £12.32 showing as "pending". This is made up of £10.00 from avios.com (presumably the sign-up bonus) and £2.32 from hotels.com.

Interestingly, the 7.8% from hotels.com seems to be stackable with their reward nights. Maybe this could be worth the effort after all.

Didn't you get £15 as a welcome bonus straight up? That should be the equivalent of the Avios bonus, I think. I put in my BAEC number not my avios.com one.

No, I only got £10. I suspect, because I created my account before the bonus was increased from £10 to £15.

I believe hotels.com rewards are indeed stackable. I have been doing it with shoop.de in Germany and have got cashback as well as nights credited to my rewards account. Surely you must be a member of shoop.de, being based in FDH?

Java #34 & Concerto #35, I was able to sign up on TCB--UK just fine with my USA address :) ! It even had a scroll-down menu for me to pick my State once I answered USA for my country! Only think is, the UK version of hotels.com rejects me with a warning that I must enter my UK bank account details to get cashback--but their Irish option has no such restriction ;) !
The Irish version of hotels.com includes all taxes & fees upfront--and on hotels on the Caribbean island of Grenada, the euros price is 5% cheaper than the dollars price after conversion! As in 100 euros which = US$106.50 today per xe.com vs. US$112. And I use a Visa & an Amex without forex commissions.

Yes, shoop.de is defintely good, I've already saved a packet of money through it. For us travellers, all the major hotels, airlines and OTAs are there. But I've also ordered flowers on it and bought a lawnmower. There's a huge number of online shops, like at TopCashBack.

Bregenz? Lovely place, I worked at the opera festival a couple of years ago. If you're there, you can try the shortest scheduled international flight in the world: ACH-FDH, all of 8 minutes with People's Viennaline!

I'll definitely have a look at shoop.de. I order a lot of stuff from Germany anyway. Working in Lindau and having a German address to deliver to helps.

I tried to get on the inaugural People's Viennaline flight from ACH-FDH on, I think, November 2, but I just had too much going on at the time. It's definitely one I want to do. It's only about €40 and they offer a free bus from Bregenz to ACH.

The opera festival (Bregenzer Festspiele) is always great fun. The put on a good performance of Turandot this year.
