Even assuming you considered the £10 spend to give you no value whatsoever (and given the breadth of merchants on TopCashback, this would be a touch ridiculous), you're paying just 0.54 pence per Avios point here!

If you really can't find anything to spend the tenner on, just order a Domino's Pizza!

I don't quite get how this actually works. I signed up through the link provided. But how does one get the Avios? At no point did I have to input an Avios or BAEC number. Have I missed a step?

Shame amazon doesn't work any more as a cashback partner.

I assume it matches up the e-mail address with the avios.com account.

You mean you're not sure either? That's interesting. I my case, I gave an email which I use for newsletters and this sort of thing, so it's not going to match with either my Avios or BAEC account. Better start again!

That was only an assumption. I don't really know either. I only guessed that because it's the only way I could think of that they could do it.

I've worked it out now (I think!). Login to your account, click on "My Profile" and then "Payout Details" (3rd option down in a box on the right), scroll down and there's a place to enter your avios.com account number.

Presumably once it's payable you'd get prompted that way anyway in order for the payout to actually happen, or you can put your details in now.

Concerto Nov 26, 2016 3:28 pm

Yup, that's it, looking pretty good. Well spotted. It seems you can't make any payout requests for 72 hours following adding your Avios number, which constitutes a change to your profile. Not a problem, as I am just beginning here. However, as I am so rarely in the UK these days I am just having a think about what I could order!

I have found "My Profile", but I can't find where to add my account number. I'm using a mobile browser on a smartphone if that's relevant.

To be honest, I'm struggling to find anything to order too, as I don't live in the UK any more.

I was also hoping to credit these Avios to my BAEC account to keep my RFS options alive for another year (avios.com seems only to offer RFS from the UK, and I don't credit any flights to BAEC any more - I'm just slowly burning what Avios I have).

To be honest, this one may be heading towards the "can't be arsed" basket. Thanks anyway.

Concerto Nov 27, 2016 3:36 am

You know, I am in exactly the same situation as you. I keep my UK life going, even though I'm barely there, and I don't really do any shopping at all there now. The only exception is amazon.co.uk which does not seem to be present on cashback sites (TopCashBack or quidco anyway). So I let a lot of promotions slip by because I "can't be arsed " either with the hassle factor and impracticality of it all.

But one idea is to use the site to book a flight. I reckon this will be the easiest way for people like you and me to hit the target. For example, I am planning on booking a Monarch flight at some point. Sure, there are plenty of other options ex GVA but I want to give Monarch a one time try before they possibly go under like they nearly did in September. There must be other airlines/OTAs on TopCashBack and you don't necessarily have to book a ticket connecting to the UK. For example, I buy SWISS flights through the German shoop.de portal for flights that depart Switzerland.

Try adding your account number using a laptop or desktop computer at some point. If you don't credit your oneworld flights to BAEC any more, where do you credit? I credit to Iberia's Plus programme and airberlin's TopBonus.

The_Bouncer Nov 27, 2016 9:29 am

I credit OneWorld flights mainly to AA. I still have a Lloyds Avios Amex, which I use for any Sterling transactions.

I'm on a roadtrip at the the moment without my laptop, so I'll have another go when I get back to Austria.

It's starting to look like a flight or hotel night via the UK version of Expedia or similar. The alternative is a Domino's pizza when I swing past Staffordshire in January.

Concerto Nov 27, 2016 10:53 am

Of course, booking a hotel is an excellent idea. Maybe in my case buying some books or music, although in the absence of amazon I'll probably have to turn to eBay. Wonder if Stanfords is in there, because I love maps and everywhere I go I bring a Michelin or decent equivalent with me. Also need to check if airberlin is a partner (unlikely) because I need to book a flight tonight!

Expedia is an option for the flight booking.

Gee, thanks! I have also been awarded £15 cash as a welcome bonus! Or is that one & the same bonus, which I can convert to 1875 Avios??

Maybe that's how it works?

Hi Concerto. It's all about the payout. You will be credited with "£15" in cashback by TopCashback, but this is only nominally £15 as your only payout option for it will be Avios (1875, obviously). You will then need to add your Avios.com account number when requesting this payout.

I hope that helps, but feel free to PM me if you need any further clarification.
