Time for my monthly points tweet, and it was a thanks to the chain for being so pet-friendly through the Harvey chaos. I've had to scramble in the past to find a place during an evacuation that didn't mind our cats and it's nice that if you book a LQ under those circumstances, you get a uniform chain-wide policy that lets you keep pets and humans together.

Email seems to indicate it's ongoing, but it's not clear with what frequency you can get points.
The email says "...it's just as easy to replenish your points (500 at a time) by sharing your Redeem Away!® experiences!"

So what's the minimum number of points to redeem. Can you spend 300 points on a coffee or something and be net positive?

No idea. I don't actually plan to redeem points on "stuff"
I used the lingo from their email and tweeted: "Just used points instead of cash to buy this using #LQRedeemAway "

Nice! Got the 500 easy enough. Saves me 10 months of the once a month hashtag in my quest for a free night by tweeting. Speaking of, I should be due for my monthly 50 in a few days.

Is this one as easy as the Marriott promotion?

Hi, it's similar, but not as frequent as Marriott. The 1500 pts was a one time thing, as long as you have your account linked via social media (a la Marriott) you got the points, no action or tweet on your part. I think there was also a 1000pts freebie as well, can't remember why. Currently you get 50pts monthly by tweeting once a month, for me my monthly tweet is on the 8th of the month. Others might chime in.

Its easy enough to get, but remember that the minimum redemption is 6000 LQ points (and those will be at some fleabag motels out in alabama boonies). So 6000-8000 points will mostly get you a dirty motel that you can pay $40 cash for.

The real useful parts are when you reach 11000-15000 points per night. At those levels, I've been able to redeem in places like Anchorage (summer weekends) or NYC (summer weekends), which are times where even hostels have high cash rates.

Has anyone recieved their 50 points this month? I have not despite repeated attempts
