I have burned through 4.3 mm with F/J trips to just about everywhere. Back in the 80's we not only got free travel but also a free car rental with the award plus some kind of cruise discount coupon which I never used.

AA, May 1986. Right after they somehow offered me an American Airlines credit card.

My daughter always mocked me for paying attention to miles except, of course, when she wanted to fly somewhere.

For me it was Aeroplan in 2001 when I was still in university. I probably should have joined a few years earlier when you could still collect a few miles on cheap domestic Y fares, but alas.

I didn't start collecting hotel points until I started a Marriott account sometime around 2012.

I think I joined AA in September 1984, and my FF number is M followed by six numbers.

Eastern Airlines in 1986. My first hotel program was Hyatt in 1988.
