Risks in advertising in craigslist to make spend
So, ive been trying to figure out how to make spend in a pinch...i am wondering if anyone has advertised in cl that they would "give back" an amount, lets say $20 for every $1000 someone spends if they would let you put it on your card.
So in a senario, person A has to make spend, advertises on cl that for anyone who lets them use person A's card for spends over a grand, they will kick back $20 per $1000.
Person "b" lives in a complex that costs $1100 a month and usually pays by check. He then gives cash to person A, who pays the rent.
Or person "c" who is a contractor who pays for materials up front. Same thing, gives person A cash and you meet them at home depot or some place like that.
Besides the inherent cost of building miles- 2%...Any other thoughts on this?

I don't think there's too much risk for person A in this scenario if he or she is receiving cash on the spot to make the transaction. However, I don't think $20 is enough incentive to make person B or C want to participate. The purchase won't be in their name, so they might have trouble with any returns. They have to arrange to meet up with person A in what may be an inconvenient location or at an inopportune time.
I think this would work better with friends than with someone from Craigslist.

You're ignoring the bigger issue: You will be holding $1000 in cash and a stranger will know this. I'd never, ever, ever do this. NEVER.
A couple potential negatives:
You Buy Jewelry and Person #1 shows up and takes it and runs. No one will pre-pay you because they'd fear you'd rob them. So you're carrying a $1,000 item around and someone know where you will be and when you will be there.
Or
You buy TV. You hand to Person #1, and receive $1000 USD. Yay...all is well. Person #1 leaves, and Person #2 (a friend of his/her) shows up and robs you. You have no recourse, and could even be hurt!

2% for Craiglist plus all the time and trouble?
What is the fee for paypal now? 3%? Isn't it safer just to paypal yourself?

I guess you can get banned, but I should clarify...I meant paypal another family member/friend. It's just to meet the spending.
I'd much rather risk getting banned from paypal (which isn't that great anyway) than to have a scary Craigslist stranger run off w/my money.

Not seeing much here in the line of miles and points and question has been answered so I'll go ahead and close this.
