People will show up as AU on credit reports even if you don't enter SSN -- my wife's AU account on one of my Chase cards showed up on her report, even though the ONLY information I ever entered for her was first and last name. I assume the banks do name and/or address matching.

Don't really see how this could be 100% accurate for credit reporting and why I think it's wrong as everytime I ever added an AU ,they only needed the person's name and where to mail the card to. Since there could be thousands and thousands of same names out there and everyone moves around and don't stay at same addresses, the only accurate way for them to track credit is by the person's indivdual SS# . If they did this solely by name then there is alot of inaccurate credit reporting out there, where wrong people (with same names) getting the credit for someone else.--just my thoughts on this.

My wife and I show up as AUs on each other's reports and we have not provided SS#s for the additional cards.
