I'm planning on Maui. It looks much nicer than the Big Island property, and the stuff I want to do is on Maui...

When we're done there, it's back to Oahu for a week at Disney's Aulani. This is a 20th anniversary trip - airfare via DL FF, two nights on Maui courtesy of Fairmont, and DVC points for Aulani seven nights, total=zero dollars.

It's all coming together...

Consider heading over to kauai and staying at the grand hyatt for a few nights courtesy of chase visa 2 free nights with new card. One of the nicest on Kauai and rooms are often $400 a night. Aa has island hoppe tickets at 5k each way via Hawaiian airlines.

It is indeed a category B property, however I´m not 100% sure how the ovation certs would work at the Masai Mara Safari Club.

The Masai Mara typically has two kind of rates:

1) overnight accommodation only (usually in the $100-$300 range, park entrance fees not included)
2) rates which include overnight accommodation, three meals and two daily game drives (and possibly some other stuff) which tend to be in the $600-$1000 range

I called Fairmont. The certs woud pay for the hotel and breakfast but full board and game drives would not be included :( so likely not a worthwhile use of free nights.

They charge 5K per leg, and there are only two LIH-OGG non-stop flights a day. Availability might be poor.

Any annual free night benefit?

DTMachine May 22, 2012 5:56 am

Annual free night bonus only if you maintain status.

Sorry, that was wrong. I re-read the docs last night. Annual free night bonus with $12K annual spend.

If you maintain status, you earn an annual Gold Room Upgrade

Unexpected benefit: Lounge Club membership, with two free visits per year.

looks like the card is still active on chase's site, chase.com...browse hotel cards.

anyone apply for it lately, how do you go about reserving the 2 complimentary nights?

Free nights property eligibility

Does anyone know if the 2 free nights are eligible at all properties, or if not, how to determine eligibility? Specifically thinking about the Savoy London England, which is a "Fairmont Managed Hotel", simlar to the Plaza in New York. Hoping to get 4 free nights in that notoriously expensive city (2 for me, 2 for my wife).

Availability

What's the room availability like with the free certificates? I'm thinking of applying for the card just so that I can do a weekend trip to Quebec City and stay at the excellent Fairmont property there. It would be a moot point if there's not availability for that hotel.

I would suggest you look up this property on the Fairmont Forum
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/fairm...ents-club-661/ and then ask your question there. If a standard room is avail. I believe you can book it. Then use U/G certs to get a better room. You have 2 days left to apply.

We booked two free nights on Maui during the whale season- next Feb. :) U/G to a partial ocean view room.

Thread on this card here http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/fairm...ture-card.html

The Fairmont property in Quebec City is the famous Frontenac. http://www.fairmont.com/frontenac-quebec/ Need I say more?

I am an authorized user on my wife's account. The free night certs say not transferable for non- platinum members. I'm planning a stay with my daughter and I without my wife. Will I have a problem?

teammelli8080 Aug 18, 2012 11:50 am

offer dead?

unfrequentflyer Aug 18, 2012 5:43 pm

Offer is still valid. You just need to go through the Chase website link. Just the fee is not waived. I say it is still a good deal for 2 night at fairmont
