For those of you looking to get point on MyPoints quickly, if you make a purchase of $50 or more at the Disney Store you recieve 5000 points this transferes into 5000 frequent flyer miles. 100 miles for every dollor sounds good and you get free delivery. The Mypoints program is even better than that. For 20,000 points you can get a domestic AA ticket and 1000 miles. I suspect that the AA ticket is one of those "Something Special" vouchers, on which you earn miles. Look under the "Vacation Miles" section of the travel awards. They don't say if you can do the Disney offer more than once, but if you can, $200 will get you a trip and 1000 miles. You can also earn around 2000 mypoints for enrollment, clicking on various web sites, and signing up for stuff, some of which you have to remember to cancel. I already have about 7000 points, and I've never spent a penny. They give out a 100-point referral bonus for up to 10 people, so if you're feeling generous when you sign up, tell them "markdu" referred you. (If student wants to be a referrer, use him, since he posted here first.)

I've had some difficulties with this site but you can get "free stuff". Have you tried www.freeride.com? No reference!

They are providing more partners and more way to earn points... and I like those e-mails you click for 10 points here, 50 there.

Still running into problems concerning my conversion From Bonus Mail. I received an e-mail today explaining what I need to do. I hope it works!!1

As for Freeride... it works for everything but free AT&T Worldnet Service (which is why I bothered going to the site in the first place!

OMNI: Catman - just a suggestion ...

If you are looking for FREE internet service, check out NetZero. They are a nationwide 56k dial-up ISP and you get unlimited surfing. The catch - no email, it is web only (so use hotmail, or yahoo mail, etc for your email), and you have to view a small ad window that floats over the top of your browser. (No bigger than any other banner ad, it is just outside the browser)

I am using it now, and it is pretty good for free - and you don't have to bother with Freeride or other programs.

I just purchased a Mickey Watch for $59 at the Disney site, got free shipping, and 5,000 MyPoints points!!

Reading the MyPoints site, this 5k points is good for 5k VacationMiles (can be converted 1 to 1 to freq. flyer points with American AAdvantage, other uses as well), or $25 gift certificates at a variety of myPoints places, like Macys, Chili's, etc.. (personally, I'm going to take the miles)

Not a bad deal - just make sure that if you want to do this, it is done by June 12th (end of this promotion), and that you link through the mypoints site:

The jury is still out on MyPoints. I have had the same troubles as Catman in getting my points from BonusMail converted properly. I have also had a few problems actually getting to some of the web sites they are giving points away for looking at.

As for the $50+ for 5000 miles, my rule of thumb is never to spend more than 8/10 of 1 cent per mile if I'm just making the purchase for miles. At 6/10 of a cent per mile (i.e. $60 for 10,000 miles) I feel the miles by themselves are a good deal. The MyPoints-Disney offer is basically 1 cent/mile so I'll pass.

My miles valuation is pretty close to yours MileKing, and the more miles one has the less attractive buying miles becomes (I'm not a King though). But I believe that the 5000 Mypoints can also be redeemed via VacationMiles awards for two $50 Hyatt or Marriott certificates.

Per the catalog, a Hyatt award good for $25 towards food or accommodations is 2700 pts, so for 5400 pts you get $50.

However through VacationMiles, you can get 2 $50 certificates toward accommodations at Hyatt.

My Points sent me an e-mail to consolidate both accounts by going to a special link and then going to the area marked "consolidate accounts."

Based on the point totals, I got the points I earned through Bonus Mail (although the point convernsion was not generous at all.)

LIke you Mile King, my jury is out on My Points.

MyPoint/BonusMail claims that with the transfer of BonusMail points, you can still earn with the new program whatever you could with the old program. So the points may appear fewer with the conversion, but the buying power remains the same.

Did anybody else do this promotion with MyPoints and Disney (when they were still offering 5,000 points) and gotten the points awarded yet?
