I actually just signed one new AAdvantage account, and I didn't choose to sign up all the mails when signing up in order to take advantage of this offer.

My interpretation is that the subscription sign ups would show up in the 4-5 days, but one would not receive the associated miles until 6-8 weeks after the mandatory wait time of 3 months.

ThePointsCollector Oct 1, 2011 11:15 pm

The wife and I have not received them.

thehonestaviator Oct 2, 2011 6:42 pm

Will post 18 weeks after you enrolled.

Gift will be automatically deposited into the participant’s AAdvantage® account six (6) weeks after the end of each applicable three (3) month email enrollment period.

I remember trying 1432 times and got the same response over and over again. That I did not qualify. I wonder what the requirements were to qualify for the free miles?

Have to be a "new" subscriber to AA emails. But by "new" does not mean having to be a 1st timer. I use to be a subscriber to AA and then cancel it, now 1 year later I was able to get in on the bonus again. So, these offers are "churnable" with about 1 year+ wait period.

Still waiting for miles to post :-((

As someone who took advantage of this on July 13, I guess that means I should look for my miles on Nov. 24 (3 months puts me at Oct. 13, and then another 6 weeks takes me to 11/24). Just in time so that the miles will count towards the million miler, before the change to BIS miles. I hope anyway .... tls

Still waiting for my 3K too

Has anyone had miles post yet? 1 more week before the time has run and I contact them about this. tls

I bet the miles won't post until after 12/1. I have noticed that many AA promos recently have rules that the miles will not post for several weeks/months.

I doubt that it's a coincidence that the lifetime MM program changes soon. For example, I remember other double miles promos where the bonus was posted along with the flight, but the DFW to LAX/SFO promo right now will not post for 6 - 8 weeks after the flight. That means that my bonus will not count towards lifetime MM status.
