Having a decayed molar extracted due to poor oral hygiene. Put it on my US Debit Visa. Cost me like $180 I think though at the time I was so desperate for the pain to stop I'd have paid anything.

A couple months ago I had to pay $600 when my car was towed (thanks City of San Francisco!) and I put it on my SPG Amex.

Lucky you could get your car out paying via a card...here in Vegas, you have to use cash. They are wise to the fact that people just call and dispute the charge so they dont have to pay it. All the towing here is via private company :(

Dirt.

Complained to Aadvantage that only 1 of 2 lavs in Y worked on a full flight ORD-PSP. We and the horde of septagenarians were not amused. I got 2500 miles and my SO got 3000 goodwill miles for our "inconvenience".

Fortunately, it was only for inconvenience and not incontinence. It could've been much, much worse.

We're very healthy 55-60 year olds...and we know how to shmooz the FA into escorting us to the F lav in cases like this.

here's 3 for now

Geesh I could think of many, like last year's car accident where someone hit my wife's car with the kids in it and she got whip lash (but is fine now). We ended up putting the rental on SPG and insurance paid us back for its month long use while the car was being fixed. Now that everyone was ok, alls I could think about was the SPG points, not the lives lol

But the worst was when my father died on AA flight 11 on 9/11 and I was later made executor by my family. I was also given the task of closing many of his accounts here or there for everything from email and magazine sign ups to work stuff and investments, and this included the airline and hotel accounts as well.

I had to figure out how to dole out miles or points to family members and while at the time all airlines and hotels allows this without a hitch (other than needing to see the death cert) the whole thing was creepy even as we collected some serious pointage. He was a business traveler and a consultant. I do not mean to divert the thread but yeah, that was sucky.

Now, onto something more juicy like how Chase tried to contact my wife about a CC sign up and in order to get the card and its subsequent bonus, she needed to call in ASAP, not me--the authorized user to be. So since she was away for a while traveling and I was visiting friends in another state, we got this stripper one of them knew to call in with all her details and BE her on the phone. We needed a girl's voice to answer the questions they asked. Well they gave her the card approval and all went well. I still think back how that card, which has earned my wife and I many a mile, was obtained by a ho lol

:)MM

My mom prepaid her funeral to top off her account so she could fly to FRA. That was over 10 years ago and she is still kicking at 78.

has anyone tried to COIN a towing company on the spot? Like.. happen to have about $600 in coins on you in the car and when they come, you're like... hey dude this is seriously all I got! Take it or... take it!

Kidding.

Taxes.

That's my serious answer.

I hope each of those ones you visited did not also take CCs

funny cuz the first one is doable, wanted by some wives so they can have more kids, and very costly so it would in fact generate many miles.

and for me the second one is sadly not possible. I can coin one tax dept of one town I own property in. The other will not have it, and neither take CCs.

I think you're the winner, that must have been an awful task. I know it's years later but I am sorry you had to go through that.
