I applied for both the same day. Got both though I had to speak with someone for the second application.

30k UA + 50k continental. Not elite so that's all I could get on UA, unless someone has an open invitation UA link for 50k?

Another data point
 
I applied for the 50K CO card online for my wife. She was instantly approved. The next day signed her up for the 50K UA card (targeted offer). Received a denial letter in the mail. Called Chase and questioned it and suggested splitting her CO credit limit between the two cards. That was approved.

Made a few purchases on each card and received 50K miles on each. We had no other Chase products. My wife is not elite on UA or CO.
