Cancel AA business Card?
I have a business AA card which I applied for the 75K mileage, now my Mom also applied for the business AA card which was denyed. The reason was that they will only give out 1 Business card per business (this is what they told me), so the agent told me that I would have to cancel my current business card in order for them to review my mom's appication again. So I went ahead and cancelled my business card.
My question now is, can they now take back my mileage from my account? The card was only open for about 5-6 months. Thanks |
I have the same card and just cancelled it. There's no time requirement - only a monetary spend requirement. If you already have the miles they can't claw them back.

I did not know you could not have more than 1 business cards through Citi. Has this always been the case?

1 per EIN (or SSN on sole prop.)
Different biz's with different EIN's can each have one. |

Since you are the only one stating an opinion contrary to what 'ALL' others have experienced, the onus is upon you to provide proof (or at least a real tangible example to support your claim).

Slightly different situation, I have AA mastercard business, which I do use for business, the annual fee came up, $75, so I called and asked this to be waived (it has been done in the past), they could not waive it, but offered me 10K bonus miles for $5k spend in 6 months, I agreed.

So has anyone canceled a biz card and signed up to get miles again? Not sure if they are churnable or not. Would guess not, but reaching for any way possible to get more bonuses.

+1 I'd also be curious about whether they can revoke the bonus mileage credits. I can't recall all the previous posts in other threads and forums re this, but I was under the impression that once you have fulfilled the requirements the miles are yours to keep.
But as others have mentioned, Citi has a well documented history of never doing this through all the heavy churning of the Citi AA cards in the past. There isn't much of a reason to cancel quickly now if you can't get another one. |

If you are asking if the idea is possible, I believe Chase has in the past. To the best of my knowledge, Citi never has. Other than claw miles back, a card company could maybe charge you fair market value of the points, or something like that.
