I got this offer in the mail, and I got another offer with a $ 100 cash bonus. Which one should I go for? I'm confused. I am waiting for the 25k CO offer, but it sadly appears like it won't be around this year :td:

Makes sense the Continental debit cards for Chase checking will become United debits. Hopefully they'll bring back the 25K offer.

its just not worth it for 10k

Why isn't it worth it? I'll gladly take a free 10K miles without an inquiry on my credit report. The only downside I can see is if the 25K bonus returns, but since Chase has been really great at applying their bonuses retroactively, I'm not too worried about that.

I got the offer via e-mail; as said before, it's targeted (I'm fairly sure) to current holders of the United Mileage Plus Visa card. I'm pretty happy with my current bank, so 10K miles is "on the fence" for me, to be worth switching. If they came out with a 25K promotion later, though, I'd definitely switch. What time of year did last year's 25K promo come out?

Also, is it possible that some of those high-mileage bonuses were due to banks trying to get customers back after the 2008-09 financial debacle? In other words - maybe they're *never* coming back.

The customers aren't back yet- banks still desperate.

I can't imagine the offer going lower but am pretty sure it will get bigger.

You do not have to switch, you only have to open a new account and meet the requirements.

I used this in addition to my regular bank and closed the account at the 6 month mark.

huh? I believe the rule was the account has to be opened for 6 months or Chase would take back the miles, and that you can only do one promotion per calendar year. When did this dormant for 6 months come into place?

It doesn't appear to be a rule so much as how their system now works. They have gone away from a promo code (or general link) used to register and you must first log into your Chase account. At least that was how the offer was working in January.

I am just one data point, but I still do not see the offer and didn't get the latest email offer either. I have a MP Visa, but closed my last Chase Checking in October 2010. My guess is that later this Spring, I will get/see the offer once the 6 months is up since closing my checking. This is pure speculation on my part. Of course it could be some other thing altogether keeping me from getting it.

Has anyone gotten these miles in their UA accounts yet? I signed up recently and I know the T&Cs state 6 weeks, but wanted to see some actual data points.

How do you find the offer after logging into your Chase account?

Should I close that account down in hopes of future offers like this from United?

I converted my checking to savings to get offers.

See post #13 in this thread.

Not sure if that is still active though. Since then reports are of both snail mail and email offers being sent. I haven't received either.

Nice, just got it also.

Once logged in, click the 'Credit Card (...XXXX)' link. Page will pop-up. In FF 4, it opened up in a new tab automatically.

whats FF4?
