My personal theory is that everyone in our boat has a pretty bad case of OCD, and the addiction could be to anything (e.g., baseball cards, stamps, lingerie, etc.). The fact that it is frequent flyer points is incidental.

My problem was the getting status for the first time. DW didn't believe what I was telling her about the J seats. I flew the entire family from CLT-DFW in F and then from DFW-FRA in J. A month later DW flew a TATL and I upgraded her to J RT. Paid cheap Y, upgraded with SWUs. She has now drank the kool-aid and is looking forward to an award RTW in J.

Travel is much better for you than many other addictions. (Can't wait to fly to London next weekend:D)

I have a newborn at home and when I get done giving him a bottle in the middle of the night, I take a look at what's going on on FT :-) My hubby thinks I am looking for responses from recruiters in Asia (I do that too) but if he found out I was on FT, he would worry about me even more :p
Funny story: I recently ran into another FTer in the DL lounge at BOS. He had his three kids with him, and the youngest asked how he knew me. He said it was because of FT. The youngest asked what that was, and the middle child said, "You know, it's that thing that he's on half his life." It gets worse, not better. Mike |
