Just curious where this is listed in the T&C? I read through everything I could find on the site with the offer, but didn't see anything relating to keeping it open for 3 months, just that it's one per calendar year.

Also, do you get a pro-rated annual fee back when you cancel?

Thanks

No fee refund for me. Though I did manage to convert several of the accounts to have no fee debit cards once miles posted before annual fees posted.

Keeping accounts open for three months is to avoid early termination fee of $25.

Ok, so if you can switch them quick enough then you don't get charged the annual fee in the first place, so it wouldn't be refunded. But, I wonder how it would work if you didn't switch?

That was fast posting. I guess the debit card fee posts on the 17th day of the second month following account opening (according to bank personnel).

So I opened the accounts Dec 14 and all of my Chase miles have already posted to my Onepass account. So there is no risk or downside to calling and converting the accounts to no annual fee debit cards now????????????

I just pulled a new coupon code from here http://www.continental.com/CMS/en-US...tPartners.aspx, called my banker, she plugged it in and its still not working.
I opened my 1st account less 3 month ago. Is this may be a problem?

Why do this? unless a person plans to keep the checking acct alive and well for yrs to come

I figure wait 6 months do the 5 Debit charges per month (the gas station people dont think putting in $1 is funny or even less then that). then simply close it up. The Debit card fee isnt prorated so you wont get any of it back, for unused months

I think the point being, that I already have the miles in my Onepass account but have not yet had my first statement issue or even been charged the annual fee so if I am understanding correctly I might be able to convert the accounts to non annual fee accounts BEFORE the FIRST annual fee is billed and therefore pay $0 for the entire deal.

Just be aware that it is not 3 months, but 6 months. ;)

well you can be the 1 then to find out ,If in fact Chase will go in and take back the Miles. I thought we had to keep the acct open for a min of 6 months or forfit the Miles

PLEASE post if you do close it and whether Chase eventually took them back or not

Does anyone know where Chase talks about the 6 month rule. I seem to remember advice about keeping a chase credit card open for at least 6 months, but I can't find anything about the 6 month rule in any of my Chase account rules or terms and conditions I received when I opened my account. I do see they will charge $25 if closed within 90 days of account opening. Are people mixing up Chase credit cards and the checking/debit offer?

Does anyone have an example of Chase charging an account closure fee after 90 days?

As posted above, does anyone have an example of Chase taking back the miles under THIS offer?

They never gave me the confirmation receipts for the personal, but I have the business ones and there is NOTHING about a 6 month requirement.

Looks like we are back in business. Just got a word from my banker. The problem was fixed. If it still a problem she needs to call her support and they can put the coupon through manually, according to her.
We are going to the branch Tuesday. Will report on a progress.

Does this offer work if you apply for the account online or do you have to do it in person? Thanks.

I've been doing it in person.
