Well if your offering the miles....

(boldly clearing his throat...)

Some of us may have arranged to buy the guide to help the "clickrewards" holiday bonus, which is of course over now.

Maybe a little bit of bonus miles for all orders that have already been placed to date? (flash to Oliver Twist asking for more).

Just a thought...

Dave

NJ David... I too purchased the new Frequent
FlyerGuidebook in the hopes of getting a few
more CLickRewards for the double point bonus
(I did not make the minimum, that's ok.) All
I am a bit concerned about is getting the poitns credited to ClickRewards.

I assume our orders are in the system so
ClickRewards will honor our orders with points.

Special for Randy: that's ok about the delay.
I appreciate that you took the extra effort
to give us the MOST up to date guide. IT's
a dollar saver and a great mile earner for me. It will be worth the wait! CATMAN

I saw some people mentioning getting ClickMiles (formerly ClickPoints) for purchasing the OFFG 6th/alliance edition at WebFlyer-- good call!

Just to clarify-- those of you who pre-ordered the book (or want to in the near future) AT WebFlyer, you will get -250- ClickMiles, not just -150-. This offer has been in effect since late October/early November 1998. You won't we rewarded these miles, however, until your credit card is charged, and your credit card won't be charged until the book is ready to ship. Hope this helps.

I called frequent flyer today and was pleasantly surprised to learn that they
were still taking orders for the OFFG with DELTA98 promotion (to receive the guide book just for the shipping and handling cost).
They also told me to expect to receive the book sometime in Februaury.

Called Colorado Springs today. A very nice lady told me it will be about another month before they mail out the "Alliance" Frequent Flyer Guide. I wonder if it is still a problem with the publishing company. Anyway for $4.95 I can wait. FYI As most of you know. Your charge card will NOT be charged till shipment. Later....

Here's a followup Question for Inside Flyer..
Will we still get the CLick Rewards for ordering the book.

In fact, till 3-31... we're supposed to get DOUBLE Click Rewards since Inside Flyer is a participating "merchant."

IT would be nice to get 10 points!

Hi all

I have just ordered my frequent flyer guidebook. Clickrewards are having a triple clickrewards promotion so I should get 3 x 250 = 750 clickrewards for this purchase.

Cool

cheers Peter

Hmmm....we all ordered this book over 6 months ago....I wonder if it will ever be published!

OMNI
While browsing a used book store, I found the Hertz Survival Guide for Business Travelers. Dated 1967!

It was quite funny to read the descriptions of cities and behaviors of the locals. Also to read that the top hotels in big cities were from $10-$20 per night!

They advised tipping bell boys 10 cents per bag. Try that now. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

No matter how long we've been waiting, Inside Flyer will never ship this book.

It's a shame really - But at least we finally know why.

Just as soon as the wise Inside Flyer editorial staff finishes getting all of the content printed, the immature and drakonian Webflyer personnel rip out 50% of the pages that either were complained about, or might (in their opinion) be complained about.

Apparently, Randy gives them that much discretion. It's very sad that he doesn't realize there are other books that arent censored, and people will just stop reading his.

birdyy Apr 24, 1999 11:45 am

I spoke to the Webflyer people a couple of months ago about the Click Rewards points. If you purchase the book for the $4.95 shipping you will not receive Click points. If you purchase the book directly through Webflyer for their full price you will get your Click points. Hope this helps a bit.

flygirl Apr 25, 1999 3:33 pm

roberto, I think you may be a bit confused. Our staff is certainly professional and I can't imagine why you think we are "allowed" to rip the pages out. There is/was a printing problem after we had already had the delay by Randy's decision to include the most current info on the CO/NW alliance. Since Randy is very particular about providing updated and current info, it was a good call on his behalf from what we know of all the changes that took place with the all the alliances. From my understanding we should be receiving the OFFG very, very shortly and getting the book out in the mail very soon afterwards. Please remember it still takes 4-6 weeks to receive your copy after we receive it from the printer). Hope this helps give some insight.
By the way, have you ever heard of Murphy's Law?! (just a little joke) Thanks to all of you for your patience with the OFFG. We genuinely appreciate your interest and will get it out to you just as soon as we are able.

Maybe they are using the same packager/shipper as UA? Just a thought.

roberto Apr 25, 1999 7:27 pm

Not confused. Just allegorically speaking over your head.

pberrett Apr 26, 1999 2:36 am

Seriously

Will this book ever ship? Its now late April...

cheers Peter

Great news !!!!!

Hey group!!!!

It appears the group there in Colorado Springs CO. has charged my credit card $4.95. I noticed the debit of $5.00($ amount rounded up)on my credit card account this afternoon when I called the bank. That must mean one thing. The official frequent flyer guides are printed and are being shipped as I write this message. I can't wait to receive my copy.

Till next time....
Mike

bryan at webflyer Apr 29, 1999 3:12 pm

It's true: the 6th edition OFFG is in. We are shipping as I speak. Apologies would be fruitless, excuses tired, and mea culpas to no real end. Hopefully you'll find our efforts valuable nonetheless.

wonderer Apr 29, 1999 3:35 pm

YES!! Was able to still order the OFFG today for $4.95. Just mentioned Delta promo. She said she was busy shipping over 4,000 out and it might take up to 4 weeks for me to get mine.
