Any creative routings to really maximize UA PQP?

I'd like to get on a LH 747 upper deck and or a swiss a220

Well, LCA & ATH are pretty close :)
If I see a match I'll post it here.

Actually, SOF seems more realistic in this case.
It's a 5 hour drive.

Love this. Can anyone expain the change fee rues for the way back? FYI I was booking LAX-GVA and then GVA-DCA (IAD) and it was still $1500

I think inventory is drying up or got pulled , at least the routes/flights I was looking at.

Only seeing a handful of TAP routes at $2k.

Argh! Such a noob I am... AC inventory dried up, so I went with LH...but LH P fares have no RDM bonus, which means the PQDs are far less and not really worth it.

Is this a mistake fare at $1 base fare? Price seems way too low for USA-EU in J.

BThumme Jul 13, 2021 4:44 pm

Well, I grabbed a cool set of flights, for now, give me a bit of time to see if there is buyers remorse.

ORD-YYZ-FRA-ZRH-DUB-FRA-YYZ-ORD

This will let me check out the AC lounge in YYZ, fly an a220, and fly an LH 747 back.

UA was actually the most reliable place to get these complex multicity itineraries.

Base fare for me was $1465, not $1. Ticketed instantly on United.

Ideally I want/need something on AC to push for UA 1K.

Is it only in October?

I see availability all the way through December, including Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years. Tons of holiday availability.

Ahh only October onward ....

Flying next month, was gonna see if there are one way flights back to US, but will probably use points, saw 57.5k AA miles in J from anywhere in Europe to anywhere in East US.... Who wants to go to Europe when its freezing, except perhaps to ski..

Which OTAs do you use to book? Normally I book directly through the carrier (e.g. United) but the fares seem to price out differently there. Is Expedia best, or safe to us any that are linked from Google Flights?

You can book on AC.com as well.

There's availability over Labor Day as well. Definitely not just Oct+.

Europe is great in the fall/winter! Visit the Christmas Markets in Germany, go skiing in the Alps, or visit Rome/Athens and enjoy some nice architecture without having to compete with the mob of summer tourists!

Meanwhile, I'm debating booking LAX-YYZ-VIE (~4k PQP) but I'm not convinced that the Canadian border will reopen by the end of the year. I don't think the PQP earnings are as good on LH group carriers tho.

Long Train Runnin Jul 13, 2021 5:07 pm

I don't think it's October only.

I had a Google flight price alert pop for a trip to SOF in Sept I'm taking.

1540 for phl fra sof and return.

Too bad I already made other arrangements.

I was looking into this deal but noticed a lot of flights required connections in Canada. Unless Canada relaxes their COVID restrictions before your flight, the YYZ connection may pose an issue as transit passengers are not permitted via YYZ (assuming you don't have CA citizenship). Looks like all other CA airports (YUL, YVR, etc.) are ok to transit so long as you can remain airside but I opted for flights with connections in US and EU to avoid this issue entirely.

Only Germany seems to be subject to the $1 base Fares exSeattle. Also OW and ST havent matched.
