Where will people credit the miles from this thread - can you credit to VA?

I think flights from North America can only be credited to their own program.

Just wanna leave a quick comment confirming that I booked the business class flight from SFO>HKG>BKK for Oct 14-22. Cost about $700 or something, half of which were taxes. This was at 3pm CST, which was well after everyone said this deal was dead.

I've already received a confirmation from Expedia, in addition to a confirmation code and ticket number. The ticket info isn't showing up on the HKA website though, which is worrisome.

Are you only using the numbers after the Expedia ticket numbers 851 when checking?

For example, your ticket number maybe "8510123456789". Use only the digits after the "861" which are "0123456789" when checking on the HKA site.

sorry, but what you say makes absolutely no sense. BA upgrades and downgrades rules are quite strict, and I seriously doubt anything even close to what you are describing might have happened in the way you are telling it.

It is so difficult to reach their website - seems like it is eternally down?

I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen mass cancellations. It's Friday midday in Hong Kong

sorry I got the holding group HNA and HX mixed up. I'd edit the prior replies but it's too late

For those who wondering about the mileage accrual, one can apply for HU's Fortune Wing gold card challenge for being other ffp elite. The butt-in-seat mileage for this deal (15k+) should qualify the gold card requirement easily.

yeah thought so, it’s not possible to select them after you booked if you skipped it during booking, their manage booking system is atrocious.

Yeah, I tried to change seats after booking but couldn't find it anywhere. Maybe try the live chat option?

I found it, but it’s more like a pay to select option, seeing as it’s J and should be free it errors with “you cannot select seats for this booking” or something like that. I will try chat.
The reason I didn’t select at booking was the site was constantly erroring so didn’t want to waste time trying to get to payment as quick as possible to secure the fare.
