Decent cpm and quite some miles for a single trip but will be brutal in WHY! :td:

did the MR last Sept for $590+-, same itinerary. overnighted at the transit hotel and never even left the airport or went through immigration. be sure you make a reservation, though. they sell out regularly.
If you get there early enough, they have a health club/pool that is included.

How did you get such a good price?

you only have to do 5 of those trips for Diamond status, and at a pretty reasonable cost, just a shade over 5 grand. Anyone game? One MR to SIN a week for 5 weeks! :D

I must complement you on the very good routing. We saw USA-SIN much cheaper last year I think in the $600-$800 range. What's hurting this is the high base fare.

If I were a DL flier I'd be checking for other major INTL gateways to see if a lower fare could be found. I presume the routing rules would carry over to other US departure points.

I tried to book this on Delta.com, and was able to find the outgoing leg but not the return. Should I be booking it somewhere else? I'm sort of new to these advanced routings...

Note you can do a same day turn from NYC for 22,030 mi @ $1,099, or 5CPM. A bit too high given my redemption ability on DL (if this was down around 3-4 CPM I could make it work with my PM bonus).

Efficient deal. I may do one on UA, about the same $ but originating on the East Coast USA so only a out 20k miles.

To get the return leg you will have to have it search out the flights by schedule rather than price, if you take the same days a week or two later the price is higher. If you have any problems please let me know.

Flying from west coast gives you about 5000 more miles, get most miles from SFO, a few less than LAX and doing it thru ATL give less. Did SMF ATL NRT SIN NRT ATL SMF in Dec For a MR and got 24,532 MQM in 72 hrs and saved driving to SFO, is about 786 miles less but I got my ticket with FlexPerks points, 70,000, and trip didn't cost any $. FlexPerks is the old NW VIsa card which I Use whenever I can't use AMX. The other benefit of that card is any charitable donations are worth triple point so remember for your donations tun use that card if you can.

June is going to be higher fare, lowest fare are Feb and early Dec a week after Thanksgiving.

I can't find anything anywhere near this fare for February on DL.com or ITA. Searching JFK with a same day turn. The same day turn, or even next day turns are all showing me $2,500+

Any suggestions? If possible, I may try two of these in February.

Some weeks the fare is $2800 or more, try different combinations. Pick flight using schedule and not price on delta.com otherwise you probably won't see ret flight SIN NRT JFK SFO. Good luck!

If you use FlexPerks to "buy" a tkt on DL. you earn miles the same as if you used cash/cc?:confused: I guess I never knew that@:-) Maybe I'd better pay more attention to that card;)

anybody have a UA routing for this? Can't seem to get close to the fare on UA!

Any ticket purchased with FlexPerks points earns miles. Also, you get a $25 credit for in-air purchases. Flights are booked via Travelocity, so mixed carrier options are possible.

Jan 20, Feb 7 are departure dates, although with no intermediate stop (~20k instead of 22k). Even a bit cheaper at $1,077, but that bumps the CPM to 5.5. I may do it, I could use 20K MQMs to get 2013 off to a great start.

If you want a few more miles and want to spend even more time in an airplane (this routing sounds back-breaking), I found one on Feb 5:

EWR-DTW-LAX-NRT-SIN-NRT-PDX-SEA-JFK for 21,900 mi @ $1,105 for about 5cpm.

not anymore. check out the changes DL just made to status qualification. Must spend $12,500 (computed only on the base price of the fare, excluding taxes and fees) and fly at least 125,000 miles to qualify for Diamond!

If this were 2014, sure. Pretty sure it's still 2013 though.

2013 miles qualify for 2014 status. Does EQD go into effect now for 2014 status? Or is 2014 when EQD's begin getting tracked and applied to 2015 status?

Pretty clear that it goes intoeffect for 2015 status

2013 flying on DL is same earn as last year... 2014 is when the MQD go into effect, basically nullifying MR's.

Or you bypass the MQD by meeting the spend on the delta Amex card.

The date makes a big difference in price, best price tonight is $1282.40 for Out Mar 4 and Ret Mar 7 and only on DL 622, 722 and 1322, if you take the later flight JFK to SFO the price is higher. Tried one and two weeks later and price was much higher. Didn't try any dates in April but you might try.

Checked prices for other weeks including Apr and all are higher up to $2900 on some days.

Trying this by doing multi city on delta.dumb. Keeps erroring out and telling me to call. Any tips? Any dates in early feb confirmed?

I'm booking today, 3/4/13 returning 3/7/13. I will let you know...already sussed out the airport website. Plus, you can get a free 2hour tour leaving from the airport.

Probably won't be any tours to the city at the time of night when you are there. If you stay overnight and can get more or less the same price, SIN is an interesting city.
