Upcoming MRs in April-May

Hi All,

I will be Diamond Medallion (Delta) by May 13th. This year I started with no rollover miles and will made 60,000 of purchases on my Delta Reserve card this month for my final 15,000 bonus. I've never been a Diamond before, always been Silver before this. I'm interested to see if I notice a difference in my upgrade percentages / level of service. Any comments?

Guess I should add the total cost on these tickets was $1,820

I saw a nice upgrade in service going from Silver to Gold so I imagine the upgrade going to Diamond will be huge. Congratulations. As a Gold ex-MSY I get upgrades most of the time, but I got them frequently as a (Northwest) Silver as well, so it might just be my airport. Gold or higher, you see more benefits when traveling internationally, such as Lounge, skipping to the head of some nuisance lines, etc.

I'm a rather careful shopper/planner and don't normally change my tickets but if you need the flexibility of being able to change your tickets frequently then I think the Plats and Diamonds can save tons of money there.

4.7cpm.... happy for you, but you know, you could've done better

3.7cpm would've been $1432

and the magic number 3.0cpm would've been $1161

But honestly those routes look nice, good aircraft JFK-SFO, hope you get upgraded

Yes, ; I probably could have done better, but it's *VERY* hard out of BDL to get cheap routes. If I flew out of BOS of JFK I could have gotten it easily at 4.0cpm or even lower. I'll fly anything under 5.0 CPM and generally try to shoot for 4.5 CPM or lower.

I'll keep you posted on the UG's. Right now I'm still Gold; will be Diamond after these routes. Plat after the first two.

How so? What type of service improvements did you see? I'm curious as to the difference in service between levels.

Thank you for the details. Anymore specifics you can provide would be fantastic!

You will only notice an improvement in service if you actually FLY after you get DM. If your "normal" flying gets you only to silver you won't really be traveling enough to take full advantage of the new status. But when you do you will almost always get upgraded, you'll be treated better in IROPs, and your calls will be answered more quickly. You already have SkyClub access with your credit card. Any special treatment beyond that, such as a Porsche ride in ATL, will be rare.

Also I don't understand your math. 0 rollover + 38,721 from flying + 30,000 from CC spend = 68,721 MQMs. Where are the remaining MQMs to get you to 125K coming from?

I've already flown 58,000 miles this year. Add the 68, brings me to 126,000 MQM.

Tight, evening connections through ATL, hopefully the weather cooperates.
