Ironically, this was on the same day when it was freezing in the southeastern states! My buddy ingy told me it was a mere 38 F or so in Hilton Head, SC!

I don't know if extreme temperature swings like that would make me exultant (on the uptick) or despondent (on the return to the usual), or both in turn. It must be quite an experience.

Definitely both in turn. After being battered by the depressing Arctic winds, you get to wake up to chirping birds for a day and sunshine beaming onto your face as you wake up. A euphoric high for around 24 hours, followed by a return to the vodka bottle as you realize you're about to freeze your arse off for another two or three weeks. :D
