UA: IAH-SIN under $900 for Jan & Feb 2015 (over 20K miles)

This MR is cheaper than I have seem this year by almost $100 for over 20K and will be the last change for MR before the new system for UA started on 3/1/2015.:D

Holy crap, it's pricing as low as $823 RT. There are some painful routing options for $840 that get just over 21,100 miles (3.97 c/m).

ETA: Before I could book, mid-January flight options rose to $898 through NRT only. Booked.

Might still be possible to route through SIN to DPS for an even lower price.

Was able to get $640 IAH-NRT-SIN-DPS-SIN-HKG-ORD-IAH (DPS segments non-earning on Jetstar).

See this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milea...q-sin-dps.html

RE: IAH to DPS

How you can get such low price (+/- $650) from IAH-DPS? I have try using UA website & they come up almost twice as much in Jan or Feb next year. The IAH-SIN still around $850 in UA website.:)

Just locked up IAH-IAD-SIN and return for $894 @ 4.14cpm.

Going out on the 22nd and returning 26th Jan, so I have a couple of short nights in SIN.

Have combined it as a side trip to LHR-GIG-IAH (stopover)-LHR for a 41,270 trip over 8 days and still comes out at only 4.8cpm, with the LHR-GIG rtn upgradable with two GPU's being a V fare.

Details of the EU cities to GIG fare here:

Total price: $797. Only non-earning leg is the KUL-HKG

UA: IAH-SIN under $900 for Jan & Feb 2015 (over 20K miles)

"Only non earning leg SIN to HKG"

I take it that you mean KUL to HKG rather than SIN to HKG, and that you're travelling SIN to KUL under your own steam.

Yep. Good catch.

Sounds good but you should be aware that there are people on other threads who can do that exact trip for less than € 200. There is a FT prohibition on being more specific. It is a bit tough to break into that crowd but I have been able to make a couple of very good and helpful friends there.

Eventually booked
IAH - IAD- NRT - SIN (with UA803 as two segments) 1/22
SIN - IAD - IAD 1/26

Decided to split UA803 because I couldn't select a seat NRT-SIN when booked as IAD-SIN. I was surprised that it resulted in 486 miles extra as well (10081 miles instead of 9595 awarded by UA for IAD-SIN), and $10 cheaper than originally quoted. Not as painful as the OP suggested with 777's almost all the way.

Took the final tally to $875 for 22,056 miles $3.97cpm.

Well March 1 earning miles on cheap tickets really is dead. My wife and I have been looking to take an Asia trip on the cheap and had to do it over spring break in March so we jumped on this fare deal (added in a HKG stopover for $100). Doesn't bother me as this trip isn't about earning miles, but wow, haha. At least I'll make up award mile on my ~$2,200 economy tix to Europe.

Comparison (as UA Plat):
If earning on miles: 35,214
Now using dollars: ~7,200
PQMs still 20,213 though

IAH-(NRT)-SIN/SIN-HKG/HKG-(SFO)-IAH

Yep. One more reason why I am no longer flying UA that much.

+1 ^ And exactly why I left them all together.
