But this is an SAA codeshare, so its their booking class that matters for accumulation.
So the question is: what does UA K map to on SA?

Where did you find those numbers? I just checked the UA website and this is what I found under SAA flights, so I would hope UA K maps to a SA K:
Economy Y, B, M, K, H, S, Q: 100% base miles 150% EQMs 1.5 EQSs
