Tornado Warning in ORD
 

ORD is a mess right now, and NWS just announced a tornado warning for Cook County, where ORD is located.

Looks like the tornado is just about over the field right now.

Tornado sirens went off here (well east of ORD). I just got back from the basement.

That's an awesome picture. Shows the effects of the storm cell perfectly. There's a couple of flights in there which must have had some pretty strong turbulence!

off topic somewhat-- i locked myself out of my apt. when i went into the basement cuz of the tornado warnings. Of course the other half is out for dinner.

Holy severe thunderstorm Batman! The weather guys out here are starting to go nuts...I may have to disappear soon...:eek:

The power outlets at baggage claim 6 work but they are going fast. :)

Power came back on about 20 minutes ago. I was getting sick of using the BBerry! :D

There was just a little blurb on our local news (AZO)...they're diverting some to GRR, where the power is out and they're running on generator power.

On the United board there was mention of possible tornado sightings in Lincoln Park and/or Navy Pear. Anyone confirm that? (our old house was on Wellington when we lived in Chicago).

I've heard of a "navy bean" but never a "navy pear." :D :D

I think most of the city is fine. A few fallen trees...that's about it. I've seen a lot worse.
