Chicago Pizza

Kevin and Ruth are headed to Chicago May 7th!

Where will we find Chicago's best pizza?

I searched this forum already and there is a thread about Chicago pizza, but most of the posts are years old. Time for some fresh information!

The posts from a year ago are probably most valid. Most pizza places that are rated the best in Chicago are over 20 years old. I cant think of anything that has open in the last year that trumps the old standbys.

there are thread(s) re: Chicago pizza.

You didn't specify if looking for thin or thick crust (& if the latter, do you want stuffed or pan?)

Best deep dish pizza I've ever had: Original Uno's.

Most consistently good deep dish pizza: Lou Malnati's.

Personally I prefer Gino's East to Lou's but you won't go wrong with any of the major players.

I agree with this.

I hadn't been to Gino's East in 20+ years, went last night as friend was in town staying nearby the Superior St location. It was a good deep dish, but I can easily rank Malnati's & Original Uno's above Gino's.

On a side note, it seems the past few years that I only go for deep dish when out of town folks visit & want deep dish. I love deep dish but I never order it for myself.

I may have posted this elsewhere. I went to the Gino's East at Diversey/Lincoln/Racine a couple of months ago. Based on that experience, I wouldn't return to any Gino's any time soon.

It's something I crave whenever I visit Chicago; however, it would certainly not be sometime I'd want to eat on a regular basis.

Define "regular." ;)
