Does anyone have any recommendations for a travel agent or tour operator in Egypt? I'm interested in a two week trip there, and wanted some help in booking tours and perhaps a cruise. Thanks.

Hello, I'm actually leaving in 2 weeks for a 2 weeks trip and will post a reply upon my return re: tour company. A friend has booked a tour for 12 of us and after the tour I'll let you know if I recommend the company. Talk about blind faith...

The company he is working with is called Egypt Plus Tours. I have not found any bad press on the company on line but will give my honest feedback upon return.

Hi--We just returned on Monday from a 2week
trip to Egypt. We used "Nawas Travel"<[email protected]> . They were very flexible and their guides were great. We (6 of us) booked our airfare and our 1st hotel separately, requested a 5 star cruise for xmas and the Mena house for New Year's, extra days in Luxor and Aswan, and an air trip to Abu Simbal. Nawas did the rest.

This was truly an awesome trip.

We had some arrangements with Creative Travel made through an agent in the US - I'd recommend avoiding them. Unlike their promise for driver - guide for the six of us from Luxor, but turned out they actually subcontracted with another agency and we were piled into a van with several others, and our guide tried to avoid responsibility for everything, including the tickets toNefertari's tomb. We ultimately ahd to hire another car and guide, and force the issue.

We found their services to be quite lacking, other than in Cairo itself.

First. my wife and I have never done a guided tour before. We have done some traveling. Somewhere between 100 and 200 over one week trips to europe.

For Egypt, she booked a company named "FLY WELL" through a third party here in the USA for everything except the air portion of a 12 day tour. Tour goes with 2, no more than 6(or 8, I forgot). We were the only 2.

The facilitator met us at the airport entrance, took us through customs to a van with driver to hotel. Booked us in. Next morning Fac met us with guide. guide &van to museum, to lunch, to shopping, to anything else we wanted to do. Same next day.

3rd day, Fac at 1:30am to airport in van to Abu Simbol. No guide or Fac. there. To Auswon later in the day. Fac and driver at airport to transfer us and luggage to boat to hotel. Guide there to review tomorrow.

4th day Fac for luggage, Guide & driver for activities. to boat.

New guide for next 5 days. 3 on boat. Took us to souk(shopping), to do email, to sights. At lexor, met by Fac & driver for luggage and hotel checkin. Had guide & driver for 2 days.

In all the mobbed places, someone had been sent to purchase tickets in advance for us, so we did not wait in lines.

Took overnight train to CAI. Had Fac & driver to train sta, and Fac. on the train(?!).

Met at train sta by second Fac & van to hotel. Next AM, van, Fac, and guide to Cairo. Guide took wife shopping after tour.

next day, 1:30am, van & fac to airport. fac checked us in.

I cannot believe this level of service, and the fine quality of the guides.
