Tying up the thread
 
In the end I decided to chase down a day room. The Hilton wanted $250 US + taxes. Sadot Tel Aviv were half that much so I chose them. It's still not cheap but for a rest, a good shower etc, I thought I would spoil myself.

Thanks to all those who offered advice.
