San Andrés Mixquic - Cemetery visits (Weekend 1-2 November)
San Andrés Mixquic Cemetery, which is huge is located on the far southeast end of CDMX. The entire town has a festival during the week of Day of the Dead. But the evenings of Nov 1st and 2nd, it's for families of the dead. Visitors can visit during day hours. At least that's how it used to be. And they usually have an alcohol restriction at certain times.
Here's an example of what happens: |
Halloween October 31st
Halloween is usually celebrated in each Alcaldía in their respective town squares. Early in the evening children go to businesses and get candy, or collect candy from the visitors at the Halloween gatherings around town. Usually before 7pm. Condesa always has one in the main park. It's not something as popular as Day of the Dead. But people still dress in costumes.
