The publicly available codes on this thread are working as far as we know. Please note that not every code will work for every property worldwide.

The best thing to do, rather than just posting "I'm staying at (fill in the blank)/does anyone have a code", is to try all the codes first. As such, this thread is not for "cheaper rate" requests.
Note that It's highly unlikely that FTers will find a code that isn't already listed based on a one-off request.

If the code is available at the property, it will show that/rate. If it's isn't available, it will let you know that. Please note that if if one (or more) code is available, only you can determine if the cost savings fits with your budget. If it does, great. If not, you might want to try and see if the property has a local promotion going or if you can use LNF (Look No Further/Best Rate Guarantee) for a better rate. Also note that sometimes a publicly available code may show a higher rate than just a regular booking. Not always, but sometimes.

If you have discovered a new code, please post it in this thread and update this Wikipost. But please, this list is ONLY for publicly usable codes. No corporate or private use only codes please. Thanks!

I have been getting this message for weeks.
Other codes such as WKD, BAR, C9N, FXL (there are many others) give me the same message. These are codes that I have used for years.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Guys, Im a freelancer and want to book some hotels in Asia (Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bali), by using some reservation codes like IBM. Do you think I'll get problems? Because Im not a IBM employee or consultant.

Do I think you will have problems? Most likely not. Many properties do not check at all. With all the digital imagery available on the net it is very easy to pony up a bogus company ID and very likely the FDCs would not know what to look for or notice even if many others checked in right before you.

Now, SHOULD you have problems? YES, big time! This is more of a moral question than a "legal" one. Realize, if you are challenged at check-in, you could be charged full rack rate should you decide to stay. Are you willing to take that risk? Will you have time to do a search for another property on the fly? Also, if the current process is found to be fraught with fraud, it's likely to go away and you will be hurting all those that were legitimately using their company codes. I know, that's not your problem, but you will BE the problem.

Is the I24 code public? They won't ask for any credentials?

I've used LPR before with caution as is suggested by this thread. I always read over the requirements in the rate description to make sure there are no special requirements (must present certificate, only good for firefighters and police, etc). I've never had a problem the time I have used it when there was something like "manager's special" or similar so I always check. This week I ran across an LPR that is significantly lower than BAR for my stay (I'm talking 60% or more). It is a former SPG property. There are no specific requirements listed on the Marriott site or in my email confirmation. The only note is "wireless internet included." I called the hotel to add my companion's name as he will arrive first, and I asked if we needed anything at checkin and he said only ID and credit card. My companion is arriving several hours before me so I want to avoid issues. I just wanted to consult the FT experts to see if you all think I'm clear to go ahead with this reservation since there are no restrictions listed and the hotel seemed oblivious when I called today to add the extra name.

But If I do not have a company badge? Because I work as a freelancer (and Im my own boss) or maybe I work for another Company, that has a partnership with them. What could they do? I think the only thing they can do to refuse the rate.

Well, legally it's a crime -- attempted fraud, theft of services -- and that could be a problem if they wanted to push it, and particularly if you're in a foreign country (authorities barring exit while you're being investigated).

And of course Marriott could take action of its own to bar you, either from the property or from the entire chain. What they might do might depend on what a search for your name in their computers turned up. If there was evidence of past fraudulent stays that might aggravate matters.

The hotel can charge you their rack rate that can be insane.

If you are working for a company that has a corp rate, then ask them to provide you some proof that you are entitled to their corp rate.

The company Mr. is working for has very strict rules about using their corp rate - it can only be used with corporate related travel.

never use ibm in bangkok. I can tell you from expierience that without a company id or ibm business card they will charge you rackrate of the day for that room.
dont ever try it at the Westin, Fourpoints, SGS these hotels will instantly request the id before arrival via email or request it at checkin no exceptions. I had booked 2 rooms once and my friend had to pay rack which was double the price as we could only present one valid ibm businesscard.

Yes. I have been asked by almost every Asian hotel for my IBM badge and they wanted to copy it. However in the USA I am rarely asked. I've had one particular hotel in HK email me ahead of time, call me and then ask me upon check in for my IBM badge. I would be cautious, especially in Asia.

LOL Fraud? I mean technically lying is fraud but its not like you can be arrested for lying. There is no theft in this instance either, yes you would technically be lying to get a special rate but as soon as you exchange payment for services (even if you lied to get a discount) the company (hotel) has agreed to sell you that service at that price. This is very dramatic, I would almost suspect you are a hotel employee trying to scare people into paying full price. The only time you can get arrested is if you impersonate a police officer, possibly military and government might fall into this category so I would advise cation in this area if you plan on flashing a fake badge or ID for these rates. But even the cop who would even bother to show up to deal with this would probably find it understandable and somewhat laughable that you were just trying to get a better price not actually trying to cause any problems or use a fake badge to do cop things.

This past week in NYC, I stayed at two Marriott properties and both asked for corporate ID. New policy. So, before using corporate codes, make sure you've got your ID.

@MGJ2727 Yes, it seems they are cracking down on this. I've been asked with much more frequency lately then ever before. IMO Marriott should have more concern on loyal customer retention then selling rooms at a discount but nothing they do lately seems to make any sense to me. #Bonvoy lol
