The publicly available codes on this thread are working as far as we know. Please note that not every code will work for every property worldwide.

The best thing to do, rather than just posting "I'm staying at (fill in the blank)/does anyone have a code", is to try all the codes first. As such, this thread is not for "cheaper rate" requests.
Note that It's highly unlikely that FTers will find a code that isn't already listed based on a one-off request.

If the code is available at the property, it will show that/rate. If it's isn't available, it will let you know that. Please note that if if one (or more) code is available, only you can determine if the cost savings fits with your budget. If it does, great. If not, you might want to try and see if the property has a local promotion going or if you can use LNF (Look No Further/Best Rate Guarantee) for a better rate. Also note that sometimes a publicly available code may show a higher rate than just a regular booking. Not always, but sometimes.

If you have discovered a new code, please post it in this thread and update this Wikipost. But please, this list is ONLY for publicly usable codes. No corporate or private use only codes please. Thanks!

Next time, book online and then call the hotel. If you get a better rate, submit a claim under the Best Rate Guarantee and get the cheaper rate with a further 25% off.

According to the rules I didn;t qualify as the online rate was a AAA rate

Ah, I see.

If you booked the cheapest publicly-available rate online and then got a cheaper publicly-available rate over the phone you could still claim.

I'm going to SFO next week and checking rates. I entered the code "COR" thinking that's the generic corporate code, and I got a rate that I can't find any other way. Does anyone know what COR stands for and if I'd need ID?

The list reads CRP for corporate, which is $39. more per night.

I'm pretty sure COR is a generic corporate code. Often when you are at a property's home page and you click 'Deals at this hotel', one of the links is 'Corporate/promotional code'. Clicking it automatically inserts COR into the box.

RVJ Rate at Renaissance

From recent e-mail. The RVJ rate at Renaissance through December 30, nets you free breakfast for 2 (the hotel I checked it also included breakfast for kids under 12), and an upgraded room (who's interpretation?), must pay with Visa. I used it to rebook a room for Labor Day weekend, that I had to break up into 2 reservations before because of rate change and got this rate for all 3 nights. Saved me about $100 on this reservation.

RVJ is a beauty - I just rebooked a couple of fall trips using this code. My rates actually didn't change much at all, but this code eliminates the ambiguity around breakfast certs when the lounge is closed.

For someone not already Gold/Plat, it's even better as you'll probably get some sort of upgrade. (I'm going to assume the code doesn't do anything upgrade-wise for Golds/Plats.)

I don't understand why all of you are waxing poetic about RVJ?

Sure, if you want breakfast and perhaps an upgrade, it is fine, but especially for Gold or Plat members who may get this -- depending on the hotel -- why is not the competing R6M code viewed in a lesser light?

I just checked DC properties around Labor Day, and both codes yield the same price.

I don't know about you, but I would rather have the saavy savings bonus bucks -- espescially if staying at the Downtown DC Renn whose lounge is open on weekends, than to get a free breakfast (which the lounge would supply, anyway) and an upgrade, but no $100 bonus bucks savings certificate!

If you are not sure if you will get a free breakfast on the weekends, contact the hotel and get the name of the person if they tell you that you would get it if you are a Gold or Plat member -- it is that easy.

WKD not Weekend Rate

I just made a reservation and used WKD - it came up with a real nice rate but it's listed as a Senior Discount. Guess I have a few more years to wait.

Just checked LPR rates with a CY hotel in Europe, and it comes up with the following:

"SPECIAL RATE * MANAGEMENT APPROVED * INCL BRFST"

No mentioning of anything to be shown in the rate rules either...can I safely assume I can book this rate (which is about 1/3 cheaper than the regular rate and additionally includes breakfast), or should I stray away from that (which in return means I stay at a different hotel)...

Greetings - Dirk

1) LPR rates aren't publically available
2) if you have been approved for the rate then feel free, otherwise expect to pay the rate of the day when you arrive

I beg to disagree on LPR not being publically available. Quite often it's a promo a hotel has going locally - REN Hthrow comes to mine, as well as others. But I DO agree w/ socrates that the above example definitely isn't a publically available one if it requires management approval. I mean, use some common sense!

Cheers.

Well, from a formal view of things it say "management approved", so the approval for this special rate could be considered generally given. I would think different if it said "approval required" or something to that meaning...

Greetings - Dirk

Personally, if one uses any rate that mentions "managment", I would suggest calling the hotel and verifying that the rate is in fact publicly usable. It is better to be safe than sorry.
