Courtyard Taipei [Master Thread]

I just read in the Taiwanese newspaper that Courtyard Taipei will open December 2015 (website now reflects the plan).

It is connected to the Nan-Gang Train Station as part of the CityLink building.

Here is the layout of the complex from http://www.citylink.tw/ - 4 buildings - garage, stores/restaurants, Courtyard and office building. 2nd and 3rd floors are connected. The CY lobby will be on the 7th floor.

Underground has the Taipei MRT (Nan Gang Station), Taiwan Railway Authority rail (regular rail) and Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR - will open some time in 2015).

The building is done and the mall has been open since December 2014. My guess is that December 2015 is a likely open date for the hotel rather than December 2016. The hotel is owned by the Leo-Foo group which also owns the Westin in Taipei.

The location is somewhat undeveloped even though it is only 4 metro stops from the center of Taipei (City Hall Station). http://www.metro.taipei/ct.asp?xItem...0089&mp=122035

This area and the Exhibition Hall (15 minute walk) are the next big development area in Taipei. I personally think the CY's location is much better than the FS Marriott by the ferris wheel and it is right on top of the Metro station. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/marri...ne-2015-a.html

Scheduled to open December 2016

Looks like a scheduled opening date of December 2016...
I wonder if the building is up already, why is it taking so long?

The building is up and the mall downstairs has been open since December.

The company that owns this hotel has announced it will be open 4Q 2015. I called the Westin Taipei, where the Courtyard's office is right now, and left a message for someone to tell Marriott to fix the website. Let's see if the website gets fixed.

Well, hopefully this one is on-time. The FS Marriott slipped again from June to July. It will miss Computex.

Usually a category isn't announced until property is bookable on the Marriott website. Right now the website still says opening in December 2015.

Cheers.

Its Facebook is already up and running, and began running some lucky draw.

Latest message from staff (Aug 10) saying that they are opening in Q4 2015. Let's see.

Reservation starting Dec 2015 via in-house reservation desk

From Courtyard FB page:
台北六福萬怡酒店 Courtyard by Marriott Taipei 您好,目前已經可以開始透過電話訂房囉!
開放入住時間為12月份起,如有入住需求請洽訂房專線 +886-2-2783-2042
謝謝!
Loosely translated: already started to accept room reservations via telephone with check-in date starting December...call this number (assumed to be in-house reservation)

Category 5 according to hotel homepage (although still the standard Courtyard background and not hotel specific)

At least 1 place in Taipei (so far) that will take the visa anniversary night
