Megabonus 2009
Did not see this posted anywhere and did not find it in a search-
I just logged on to my MR account and found an offer of 40,000 points for 20 nights starting 2/1/09.I have moved most of my stays elsewhere because of the new "enhancements" so I doubt i'll hit it. |
I have the 50k points for 25 nights offer.
|
I also got 40K points after 20 nights. Will call for 50K.
Thanks for posting this. Update: Called to switch and was told it was not possible but if I hit the higher threshold, the extra points will be awarded. Now, I remember :) This is going to make Marriott Rewards better than SPG because they've also changed the platinum bonus points from 30% to 50%, effective 1/15/09. |
Also thanks - good thing to be aware of, and this time (for the first time ever) got the 50k without having to ask for an uplift!
For anyone wanting the url its here; https://www.marriott.com/rewards/pro...MGS9&psrc=MRTR The market must be bad if they are already advertising this and the current megabonus hasn't ended yet (until the 15th Jan I believe) Details; Earn: 35,000 Marriott Rewards bonus points when you stay 20 paid nights. Earn an additional 15,000 bonus points when you stay 25 paid nights. You can receive up to 50,000 bonus points overall. Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion will earn MegaBonus points for qualified paid stays made between February 1 - April 30, 2009, at participating Marriott properties. |
I am just a Marriott Silver and I only got an offer for 25,000 points. Is there any way to get a better one?
"You're not dreaming. This is real and a really good opportunity to earn thousands of extra Marriott Rewards® points. Just register for the MegaBonus promotion and receive 5,000 points for every other paid stay you make at Marriott hotels - starting with your second stay. You can earn a maximum of 25,000 points toward the vacation of your dreams" |
I'm Platnium and have been for several years straight. I just checked my MR and no Megabonus 2009 promotion for me.
Why is there these different levels of Megabonuses anyway? I noticed last year among some of my coworkers that we didn't all have the same promotion. |
When I went into the Web site, it showed eligibility for the 25k offer. When I enrolled, it showed the 50k offer.
|
I got the 50K offer. I doubt I'll hit it as I've shifted more stays over to SPG where the LURKER (unlike here at The Marriott board where us members have to dig up this info ourselves) announced the up-coming promo. 500 SPG points per night, plus 5000 bonus points for every 10 stays with unlimited point earnings!!
Marriott your going to have to try harder... much harder to remain my business especially after the massive point devaluation, **cough** I mean "enhancements" around the corner. |

OK Offer but I'm going to pass after Marriott's recent devaluation and how they continue to call it an 'enhancement' after everyone saw right through it.
|
figure this 1 out
I got 20 for 35k and 25 for 50k my friend got 15 for 25k and 20 for 40k I like his 20 for 40k alot better then mine 20 for 35k with my reg Renaissance no longer a Renaissance there went 55 nights a yr, so Im having enough trouble getting to 20 nights on teh present Mega let alone figure out how to get it in on the new 1. But ^^^ for these Promos, makes SPGs look like a Hilton Promo |
Nothing yet for me - wouldn't let me register via the link either.
Guess I'll just wait and see. I should finish up by Fall/Winter 2008 Megabonus by the 15th of Jan.... |
I got 2500 for each paid stay, beginning with the second stay. Max 25000 points.

Where was that promo:confused: Are those bonus points or base? I'm already getting 5 points per $$ with my MR Card and that easily adds up to at least 2500 pts per "stay". Marriott normally does per "night" promos.

No Visa tie-in!!!
I've had to skip the previous MB's because I'm required to use my corporate Amex. Thanks for dropping the Visa requirement
Now I need to do the math between this and the SPG Night after Night promo. At least they're all night based, not stay based, so no winter hotel hopping. Mine is 35K for 20 nights, upped to 50K total for 25 nights. I just noticed it starts Feb.1 - I guess that answers where my Jan stays will be. |
I also got 20/40K. I like it better then the 25/50k ^
|
Rock on the link and I'm Gold?!
|
where is the red register button
|
I was registered for the 50K offer. I need to go get some of my Visa postings corrected for the current offer since I am missing 5 nights credit for the current promotion.
|
Disappointed - I got 5,000 points every other stay; max 25,000 pts

Of course, you could always try and ring up and ask if you have a good reason... don't think it would work though as they are trying to use the promotions to change people's staying habits (i.e. stay more at Marriott!!) to benefit their bottom line, not to give away points for no reason! Edit: Looks like I was mistaken, based on other posts below - seems anyone (??) can give it a whirl and ask for a promo change, so, good luck if you try |

so, higher redemption values needed for award stays, but no increase in points for promotions???
frankly, given the upcoming devaluation of points, I am disappointed with this promotion as is it is for the same point range as prior to the devaluation, meaning that the value of the promotion is significantly lower. I shifted the vast majority of my stays to Starwood in Q4 given their terrific "You Choose" promo and might just have to continue for Q1 with the nights promo. I just don't see the value with this Marriott promotion. |
50k for 25 nights for the third straight time. Got the first two easily and should get this one as well ^.
|
I must have gotten the worst promo so far. 3K for every 2 stays, with maximum of 15K points for the entire promotion period. Gee, what will that get me?

No - only platinum members can change their promotion at will (well, by sending an email to the concierge or calling up the plat desk). Even then you then don't really change promotion they just manually add the additional points at the end of the offer period (or when you hit the target). This is just a 'special' case to reward their best customers and until I started reading FT I never realised it was possible :D

Well, some gold members have been able to change their promos, but platinum members will always get a change if needed. If you can't do it directly, you can always ask Marriott Concierge on FT to get it done.

Hi all,
I expect to have a 30 day stay at a Marriott property for work. However, it will likely be in May 2009. Does Marriott usually have another Megabonus promotion that will begin after the current one ends? Not sure if I can move up my work project to the month of April, to take advantage of the current promotion. Thanks!!! ND |
