Marriott to AA conversion

Hey Guys,

I have a friend who has to give me 75K american miles but i need Marriott points for an upcoming stay.

Is the conversion a 1 to 1 basis or are the AA miles worth more?

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi

I personally value airline miles more vs. MR points. UNLESS you have enough to redeem for a travel package where you get nights and miles.

For more info on the travel package awards click here:

You cannot transfer airline miles into Marriott points. The transfer tables are only for converting Marriott points into airline miles.

Get your friend to transfer the miles to your Hilton account. 75k miles will get you 150k Hilton points that you can use whenever, for just a one time $25 fee. Do a search on the HH or AA forums. This is by far your best option.

One MR for 1 AA is a good deal, AA Miles are worth more. I always transfer MR to AA when I do a 7 day vacation with points.

While this may be stricly true, perhaps the poster is looking for a reply with a little more imagination. F'Talk assists many with creative solutions to this sort of dilemma. The author could consider offering up a barter of his AA points, which he can't / chooses not to use, in exchange for Marriott points / a Marriott deal which he does want to use.

I for one regularly entertain this sort of agreement, and would be happy to exchange 1:1, where I could employ and value 75k AA more than 75k Marriott.

Let the bartering commence!

The OP does not have enough posts for CC. The Marriott forum is not a place for people to make or offer trades.
