Called the Plat line today to extend my June 18 stay an additional night and was told that no rooms were available. Plat override request was also rejected. Anyone know what's going on the 19th of June. Every other Napa area property has availability.

Marriott Hotels in Napa/Sonoma are seriously overpriced
I used Priceline for a weekend stay and got the Hilton at Santa Rosa for $70/night. Was even upgraded when I showed them that I had Marriott Plat status
Compare that to the Renaissance Lodge at Sonoma which was going for a ridiculous 400/night.

Well, you'll get what you pay for. The Renaissance Sonoma Lodge is worth $400 a night.

Which is also why I have no problems using a travel package on it. I have never had any problem finding standard award availability with a little planning and flexibility. We will be there for 8 nights starting next Saturday and will report back, but I agree it is well worth the money.

What I would do is devise whatever "plan B" you can for the additional night at another hotel. Then when you check in at Napa tell them you'd like to extend your stay by an additional night if something opens up. Based on my 25+ years of experience, there's a good chance that something will (but that's never a sure thing).

I'm personally not a fan of the Napa Marriott. I'd actually choose the FI in American Canyon over the FS property. In actuality, Mrs. Cyberdad and I like another non-Marriott branded hotel in Yountville, and usually stay there.

One thing the OP did not make clear: Is this a paid stay or is this an award stay. Award stays are not available for the Platinum override, in fact, if all of the standard rooms are sold out you can't even use a Stay Anytime award. In this case you are SOL. Sorry.

If it is a paid stay, I would challenge the hotel as to the reason the override is not available. It has been stated on this forum by "those in the know" that hotels must apply for exemption from the Platinum override if there is a special event. Of course, you have to pay the rack rate to use the override which could get expensive.

This is a paid stay so I was a little disappointed in the matter of fact response from the Plat line. I haven't called the hotel directly so that'll be next on my list. I've got a confirmed reservation at a CY just in case the hotel won't allow me to extend the stay. I also have stayed at the American Canyon FI and found it to be an excellant value.
