Lifetime points are missing from the profile section of the website and show as 0 in the Marriott mobile app. However, you may be able to use the work-around referenced in this blog post to see your current Lifetime Points.
You can still view your lifetime points online with the following steps:
If you call Marriott they can also tell you your lifetime points balance.
http://www.marriott.com/marriott/rew...te-benefits.mi As of 20 May, this process does not work. There is no link called "Night Detail" on this page.
To check lifetime balances: (HT to txpenny)
1. Click "Night Detail".
2. Click "Learn More" (under the night total)
3. Click "Marriott Rewards Overview". At this point you're probably no longer logged in (because you've been thrown to an older version of the Marriott website), so log in again.
4. Click "Nights" under your current year's nights. -> The detail you're expecting showing LT nights and points will show up like before.
Lifetime Silver Elite:
250 qualified nights
1.2 million points
Lifetime Gold Elite
500 qualified nights
1.6 million points
Lifetime Platinum Elite
750 qualified nights
2.0 million points
To check your point and night balance, log into your account and click My Account > Account Overview > Nights.
"Elite Lifetime Status is determined by your total qualified nights stayed and points earned throughout the course of your membership – including your paid nights, Elite rollover nights, meeting nights and the nights and points earned on your Marriott Rewards Credit Card."
Points used by members to buyback their previously attained Elite level will be permanently deducted from their Lifetime point balance.
If an elite's point level drops below that required for the level attained, they will drop down to the next Lifetime level until points are accumulated to get them back to the next level.
Lifetime points in addition to nights now display on your Marriott Rewards account. When logged in, click on "Nights" (the blue link below the number representing your current year nights). You'll see the detail of what comprises your current year nights as well as your Lifetime Status nights.
You can still view your lifetime points online with the following steps:

- Go to https://www.marriott.com/rewards/rewards-program.mi

I just satisfied requirements for lifetime platinum over the weekend. This event was celebrated at the San Mateo California Marriott. I'd never stayed at that property but knew the assistant manager and front desk supervisor from their days at the Sea-Tac Marriott. I was put up in a two story loft suite - three, count em, three HDTV's!!! The room was decked out with congratulatory balloons. I was given a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a Marriott bathrobe embroidered with my name. Everyone, I believe, went above and beyond to make my weekend stay a great one. I'd stayed at most of the full service Marriotts and Renaissances around the Bay Area but had somehow missed this one. I would like to recommend it to anyone visiting San Francisco. Its a unique Spanish style with palm trees surrounding the pool. The food is exemplary. The C-Lounge is among the best I've been to - and if I've ever seen a better breakfast offered anywhere else, it has not come to mind. The lounge offered various smoothies, eggs, chicken-apple sausages, a fantastic choice of fresh fruits, fresh (not prepackaged) cream cheese blends, and a good choice of juices and cereals. Coke and Pepsi products!!!!! The property offers free shuttle service to and from the San Francisco Airport where Bark can whisk you into the city. It seems many folks who post on this site dismiss so-called "airport" hotels in favor of downtown hotels closer to "the action." In my experience, better hotels are sometimes found outside the city center. The San Mateo is such a property. In actuallity, the Marriott-Burlingame is more properly the "airport" hotel. Check out the prices between a downtown stay and a stay at a property such as San Mateo; compare what you get for your dollars. You will be a winner when you stay at the San Mateo Marriott when visiting San Francisco. In my march to lifetime status, I recall some special places not often reviewed in these posts: Ross Bridge Renaissance in Hoover, Alabama, Dahomey Resort (12th century castle) in Edinburgh, Scotland, Budapest Marriott (had a great Texas barbeque on the patio), Liverpool South - an abandoned airport terminal and tower converted into a very nice property, the Sea-Tac Marriott - home of the Salmon Scramble and a sentimental favorite of mine. I'll put the San Mateo Marriott alongside these special places.

Liverpool South is interesting architecturally, yet didn't like the service at all (stayed there for one night a couple of weeks ago), had to change the room 3 times until got what I had reserved (king bed, nonsmoking and high floor simultaneously).
Was asked which newspaper I'd like and charged for it afterwards. No mention of cost in the beginning.
There was no bathrobe in the room, so called and asked for one. Available for a charge...
TV remote was not working but I was already fed up with them. Maybe a working unit is available for an addition charge...

So did you tip off the property (or your friends from Sea-Tac) in advance that you were crossing the lifetime threshold, or did they find out on their own. I'm impressed either way, but ESPECIALLY impressed if this is something Marriott corporate or particular properties do whenever someone passes this major threshold.

I guess I found the real answer. According to Customer Service in Feb I had 599 nights and 1.28M points. According to Customer Service today I have 598 nights and 1.42M points.
So it wasn't good corporate rates, or bonuses, or lack of a MR credit card - it was bad data.
Fortunately the change in points matches what I calculate for the year, and that's still my bottleneck, so not a big deal on the nights. It's been a slow '08, so I'll get to the first level by mid-next year. That's 15 years as a member. At this rate I'll hit lifetime PLT in time to retire.

I recall nothing of the sort happened to me when I turned Life Plat

Hyatt offers lifetime diamond. You must earn 1 million base points with them to get it (i.e. spend $200,000 with them and credit it towards earning points).

Question - longer time "watcher" of flyertalk - newer member (great info here!). As someone interested in using Marriott more in 2009, due to locations and my travel, if I were able to get a Plat challenge in early 2009, would it qualify the needs to be "at least once" at that tier for future lifetime status?
Also - may not be the right thread, but if I received a challenge, and finished in Q1 '09 - would I remain Plat till Feb 2011?
Thanks in advance
