Compensation for a mouse/mice in room?
Since I and a few others have recently had one or many mice in a hotel room and received different compensation for the situation, I was wondering what others received and thought was appropriate for the situation. What better group could there be to ask?
|
I don't know about compensation, but I guess the hotel could charge you for having a animal in the room.

 MICE???
GAAHHH!! MICE?? Seriously, I guess it depends on how much you are freaked out by the mice. I'd probably wake up the entire hotel with my screams, but that's just me. :) I'd be demanding free hotel stay, move to another floor at the least, but I don't know what they'd do... What were you offered? Can we start a thread that posts all hotels that have MICE?? |
Well, this is Flyertalk, so folks are going to say that you should demand compensation because you have been fundamentally wronged. Your worth as a human being has been intentionally diminished by Marriott by their introduction of rodents into your hotel room.
I'd demand 1,000,000 bonus points and lifetime Plat status. But don't be surprised if their response is "We'll have room service bring up a tomcat." :p |

Were you in Orlando or Anaheim? If so, they would charge you a premium for the mouse, as it was a "Character Experience".

I would ask why the mouse was given an upgraded room and you weren't. Did they charge you a pet fee?
|
Has anyone considered the feelings of the mouse? Frankly, I think the OP was a bigger imposition on the existing occupant than vice versa. In fact, I think we're going to be getting a thread from the mouse asking what kind of compensation he should get since Marriott gave out an occupied room.

For the two recent situations, here is the compensation:
- Refund of 50k points ued for the two night stay - Grant of 25k points plus $100 room service bill and $25 parking bill removed |
All jokes aside (I'm not as quick as the others when it comes to the funny comments!), I think the above is reasonable compensation if not a bit generous.
Cheers. Ok - I thought of one. Did the maid bring cheese when she did turn-down service? :D |
This thread could also cross post to the "weirdest things found" or the "Compensation for Walking In" Threads.
Was the mouse clothed, watching porno, or being intimate with another mouse? |

If it was either of the 2 she'd have to give back points for the entertainment value :D Speaking for myself, I probably would have just asked to be moved to a dif room unless the room was overrun w/ critters. Not sure I would have asked for compensation. Well ok if it was a rat I would. Cheers. |
