Some people were complaining about the lack of free breakfast at Courtyards... maybe it's a pilot for a free hunt-your-own-breakfast program. :D

On the concierge level they send up a purebred show cat.

Just about right....

Once long ago, I had a nice big iguana in the thatch of my "bugalow" in Puerto Vallarta, but he was actively employed as an insect and rodent control device. I recall one place in the Phillipines that warned guests that the little green constrictors in the shrubbery were (a) not poisonous and (b) kept down critters.

I lived in a ship of which it was claimed that she mounted her rat guards backwards to protect the folks ashore from our rats, rather than the common practice of keeping pier rats off ships.

I can remember a tropical hotel in which all four of the bed's legs were sunk in coffee cans with a couple of inches of kerosene, scarier than mosquito nets.

Whilst I might tolerate a single invasion ofa field mouse rushing through an open door, I draw the line at Norways, Blacks, and other full sized versions of rattus rattus and cousins. ....And when those aren't #8 birdshot in the drawer or corner, the rat(s) simply didn't just drop in.

If you're staying at a hotel with a kitchen in the room, FREE FOOD!

Mouse tartar! No need to cook. :)

Gee.. I know some hotels will set up a goldfish bowl if you ask....
( aren't we a lot of help ).
Seriously.. there's a thread somewhere laying abouts about all the weird animals folk have found in their hotel room.... that'll make mice seem like asking for compensation for a dust bunny.:p

That probably would be my reaction...especially if the little bugger kept coming back...or if my unwanted roomate had a bunch of friends and relatives also stopping by for a visit.

If they wanted to offer me points or something, I'd gladly accept....but probably wouldn't ask. In any event I'd definitely bring the matter to the attention of management.

Consider yourself lucky. AA never even replied AFAIK to my friend after a major infestation of moths on one of their flights a few years back:

Perhaps AA was merely attempting to test the concept of combining meals/entertainment into a single event.

Not bad at all, so I got a thinkin (which is very dangerous for me to do I could hurt myself:p ) I jumped into my car and headed over to the nearest PetCo to pickup some Mice Transporters. They told me they were soldout as was every store in the US, people were ripping them out of each others arms, slugging it out with 1 another. Man I never knew so many people read FT

MOUSE SOUP

Mouse
Wild vegetables
Water

Skin and de-gut the mouse. Put the mouse in the sun to dry. Boil wild vegetables in water. When the mouse meat is half dry, pulverize it, bones and all, to hamburger, then add it to the boiling vegetables. The meat should be done in about 10 minutes.

And for dessert: Chocolate Mousse. :D

Rats are actually cleaner, more intellegent, and more people friendly than a mouse. (I know as my 11 year old daughter just had to have a couple of rats for pets. )

Did she happen to leave them in the hotel room?

Oh, and perhaps Marriott was providing a platinum welcome ammenity for the platinum cat guests?

i had an event once at a spg property. there was at least 2 cockroaches in the bathroom and i mention it to both housekeeping and at the front desk at check-out. i was promised an upgrade the next time i stayed there. The truth was \, that next time i stayed there, the upgrade i got was nothing more than a upgrade i got as a spg elite member. So i got essentially nothing and mentioning it at check-out, i just got the canned statement"we are sorry it happen sir, we are sorry it happened sir." but no recognition whatsoever. I stayed at the marriot in the us and spotted flies, and rodents and mention it again to both front desk and at check-out. I got the statement, "oh we're terribly sorry it happen sir but we have no other rooms to move you to." The truth was that, there were rooms and on higher floors which i was surprised i wasn't moved there. at check-out, no recognition whatsoever.
