GRRRRRR I hate having integrity

I just logged onto my Marriott Rewards account and low and behold, a stay that had been missing had been posted. I had reported it missing a few months ago and basically forgot about it. However, the stay ran from the date I checked in (in mid August) until last week (guessing the day it posted)! So, for the year, I am showing about an extra 90 nights...

If I had no integrity, I could just ignore it... After all, the points accumulated are correct.....

PLEASE, FLYERTALKERS!!!! CONVINCE ME THAT I SHOULD NOT CALL!!!!!

If you're going to be a plat either way, i guess it's not a big deal whether you report or not - especially if the legit amount of points posted, not the 90 day count number of points...

It's totally your call.

Do you believe in Karma?

debua1k Nov 27, 2006 10:01 pm

Well, I already had qualified for Plat for 2007. Won't the nights get me closer to qualifying for lifetime though?

bhatnasx Nov 27, 2006 10:01 pm

I thought lifetime was 10 years of plat in row?

but I don't know that for fact - i've never been a plat...

hhoope01 Nov 27, 2006 10:19 pm

No, Lifetime Plat is 12 years in the program, 3 million points, and 1000 nights.

I wouldn't worry about it. They're not losing money on you on this, unlike if it was an airline FF program, they would be.

To the OP:

I just have 1 question for you (okay - maybe more than one...):

Wouldn't you feel better after calling in and informing them of the error?

Its your call. I hope you do the right thing.

:)

Okay, Okay.... I'm calling first thing in the morning (just after I check on here to see if anyone can convince me to not call) :)

Just hope they don't mess things up and take extra nights away. ;)

u know what they say, what comes around goes around..,

Sprite Nov 27, 2006 11:22 pm

Sprite's room nights count has changed several times this year, especially the last few months. Goes up two, down one, down two, up three....He has no interest in tracking where he should be so I try to figure it out.

Eventually it has ended up where it was supposed to be (I think  ) My guess is that they will notice it and make the correction. But you could call......

I know you can do it..... :) :) :)

As others have pointed out, I think there is a good chance the computer might catch it - that is a lot of nights in 1 post.... :) :) :)

You did the right thing. It would be embarrassing if they found it on their own and it was documented on your account. Then if you called about a problem (legitimate complaint) in the future, your word wouldn't hold much weight.

You mean 2007? I'm not sure how one can qualify for 2008 yet.
