JW Marriott in DC no longer has $9.95 Wired for business option that includes free phone calls. According to hotel operator, this has been replaced with options for $3.95 or $9.95 wired access depending on speed. Phone calls are then 10 cents a minute for long distance and local calls are 5 cents a minute.

Added to first post. I also updated Vail Marriott which surprisingly went from $12.95 to $10.84/day.

Renaissance Tampa International Plaza

The Ren Tampa now applies the screws to its customers by upping the wired for business package to $12.95, but wait, there's more---the formerly free wireless available in the lobby now requires you to pay $5.00 at the front desk in order to obtain a code. Frankly, I wouldn't have cared if they had just upped the price $5 for the room. But this attempt to squeeze every last dime out of their guests, makes me feel like they view me only as a continuing money making opportunity rather than a guest at their property.

Crystal City and Crystal Gateway - Washington DC

Both charge $9.95 for 24 hrs access and include free local and long distance phone charges.

Both are wire based and neither has any free access either in the lobby or in their CL.

There have been reports in other threads of other hotels increasing Wired for Business from $9.95 to $12.95 and I updated post #1 accordingly yesterday. I left the reference to $9.95 with the warning that as of March 2007 there have been reports of some hotels increasing it to $12.95.

Note, that until this comes more prevalent I am not removing those hotels previously noted as charging $12.95 nor am I adding any new repoorts of hotels charging $12.95. I am waiting a bit to see what happens with regard to other properties that have been charging $9.95. hhoope01 - if prices increases at the Crystal City Marriotts please let us know.

BTW, when things do settle down, the North America listing will include FS hotels that provide free internet, or whose price is outside the $9.95 to $12.95 price range. Well at least that is my plan right now.

Ren Vinoy upped to $12.95.
