Totally easy! A big Metro/RER station is about 500 feet from the hotel entrance.

As Bruce stated there is a Metro/RER station very nearby. There is also a mall which has a large supermarket within easy walking distance. Very convenient if you're looking for snacks or foodstuffs to bring home at the end of your trip. Hotel Restaurant was decent for dinner (some nights, after a full day of business meetings, we were too tired to go back into Paris). Ate breakfast in the hotel each morning and it was good. Nice buffet with a wide spread of food. If you're looking for something lighter, there are many bars in the mall where you could get a quick inexpensive meal. Hope you enjoy your stay.

I've stayed at 3 Renaissance before. The Renaissance Niagara Falls in Canada is very nice, where as Renaissance Parc 55 in San Francisco and New World Renaissance in Hong Kong is so-so.

The Ren Chancery Court(sp?)in London UK is the best I have ever personally stayed at.The concierges are top notch. ^

I agree that the Rens have personalities.The Marriotts tend to be the same.

Yes, I agree, the Chancery Court in London is one of my favorites as well. besides good service and nice rooms, the location is fantastic (especially if you're planning on spending a good amount of time in the westend like I do.
The Blue (picadilly) line runs from LHR to Hoborn stop which is a 1/2 block from the hotel. You can walk to the west end and covent garden is a few blocks. Buses at the corner to Oxford Street for shopping or across the bridge to National Theatre, Waterloo, etc.

Just stayed at the LAX Ren and was impressed with the AAA 'Park and Fly' program. FOr $169 (vs. the regular $189 room only rate) I received up to 7 nights valet parking, Club level room for one night, private town car service to the airport (take hotel back), and a car wash. Club had a nice selection in the evening (didn't see breakfast - left to airport at 6am).

I'd definitely stay there again.

I just finished a 3-night stay there this past weekend and have to disagree--it was quite a pleasant hotel. The restaurant was great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the hotel staff was uniformly excellent. The room was soundproofed better than most I've stayed in, and seemed larger as well.

Back on topic, in general I agree with what others have posted. Renaissance locations tend to be more unique than their FS Marriott counterparts, and I will select them if the price differential is not significant. The Orlando Airport is a notable exception--the Marriott is far superior. At LAX it's just the opposite, where the Renaissance is clearly head and shoulders above the Marriott a block away.

I stayed at the Renaissance in Denver last week, and my only complaint was the bed. It was as hard as a rock.

For the price, $113 per night, I got more than I expected to get - with the exception of the hard bed. I had stayed at the old Courtyard down the street the night before. The bed at the Courtyard was much older, but much softer.

Renaissance is my favorite overall brand of the Marriott chain...the rooms are less cookie-cutter in furnishings, and it may just be me, but the service quality and amenities are as a whole a notch better than the Marriotts.

Properties that have helped form my opinion include the Rens at Chancery Court, Zurich, Chicago, Wailea, Brussels, La Defense, and Walnut Creek.

I've stayed at La Defense. The Metro is right outside of the (back of) the hotel. The line will take you right into Paris.

There is also a small mall adajacent to the hotel.

Has anyone stayed at the Renaissance in Seattle lately? Opinions in prior posts seemed to vary.

I stayed there about 18 months ago. Nice enough place, but nothing special. Location is not the best.

I stayed there, let's see... about four years ago. I was rather impressed. The location I thought was ideal (walking distance both to the waterfront and the eclectic district), and I got upgraded to a nice corner room. The one negative thing I do remember is that I used the complimentary shoe-shine service but they were late returning my shoes. So late, in fact, that I almost missed my flight out of SEA!

I was quite impressed with the Seattle Renaissance. Nice touches, like coffee left outside my door to go along with my wake-up call. I didn't really eat there, so I can't speak for the food, but the service seemed pretty decent. One note: the walk DOWN to the waterfront is fine, because it's downhill. But take a cab on the way back, but it's a STEEP climb that will leave you sweating -- even when it's 30 degrees and snowing like the days I was there.

Also, you might want to ask about the Marriott Waterfront. I heard from a colleague this was one of the best domestic Marriotts he has been to.
