New to Marriott / How long do points take to post?
I did a search and could not find anything about this.
I'm nomally a Starwood guy, but my company has a new corporate agreement with Marriott.
On average, how long do Marriott points take to post? It has been almost 2 weeks and I haven't seen anything yet. It this the norm?
Thanks!

Two weeks does seem like a long time for your MR points to post to your account. My experience has been that it depends on two things:
1. The individual hotel
2. The day of the week I check out
Usually though, I believe 4-6 days is how long it takes for my points to post. Enjoy your Marriott stays and welcome to the Marriott forum!!

Within 2 weeks with the exception of non-US properties. I find that it is non-US properties that fail to post on occassion. Call MR at 800-445-4442 or 801-468-4000 and let them know that it has been 2 weeks and they will instruct you to FAX them a copy of your folio and will credit the points within a few days.
Also, are you sure they had your MR number in your reservation? If they did it will be printed on your folio. If it is not printed on your folio, then you will want to write it on your folio before FAXing it to the MR office. I find it beneficial to keep my folios until the points have posted.

I'll also add, the search function of FT is not very good. I did try, but I guess I'm not as astute as Upgrade Me

FWIW, I stayed at the JW Marriott Ihilani and checked-out this past Sunday, Sept. 26 on a 2-night stay, and Monday, Sept. 27 at 1:30 PM on a 1-night stay and the points for the first two nights posted the morning of Tuesday, Sept. 28 and the last night posted to my account yesterday morning, Sept. 29. That is the fastest I have ever seen points post. It also answers an implied question in a previous post that it depends on what day of the week you check out as to the length of time it takes points to post. From a corporate standpoint I do not think that would be the case since I had points post 2 days in a row. Now some hotels may do less frequent uploads of stay activity to corporate/MR computers. My guess is that any delays are a result of delays at the Hotel level, not the corporate/MR level. Just a guess based on my experience.
Another reason why non-US properties have long delays in recording stays as they may only do uploads monthly, every few weeks or never. You would think Marriott corporate would want to improve this. Another possibility is that many of the properties that experience delays in MR posting may be franchises and thus the only thing corporate has to persuade them with is to disenfranchise them which, if the Hotel is profitable, would be hard to do from a business perspective.

Based on my experience, full service hotels do a better job at posting faster. They say give it 10 business days, but I've never had an "unassisted posting" where the points weren't posted within 5 days of checkout. In other words, if they don't post within 5 days, I usually just call and have them do it over the phone.
It is one of the few consistent gripes with the Marriott Rewards program.

I've been staying in RI's and Renaissance's. It's been taking about a week to post.
