Combining a Cat 5 Cert With Points?

I have a 3 night reservation coming up, and I have enough points for 2 nights, plus a Cat 5 cert. I can't seem to order both of them on the website (it keeps trying to make me purchase points to pay for all 3 nights). Is there a special way to do this on-line, or will I have to call it in?

Book them separately, then email/call the hotel to combine reservations. I've even waited until I arrived, and sometimes the reservations have been combined before I got there.

I had to call and they were able to do it for me over the phone. :)

<Deleted> missed the last post in the thread which had already answered the question.

I have called MR in the past to change instruments used for a reward stay (e.g. swap in annual Visa free night certificate or combine other free night certificates and points). They have always been accommodating like they were for you. Even though I generally prefer to do everything via the web, this is an instance where the old fashion way making a phone call is the only way to get it done. Glad you were able to get your reservation changed.

Good to know - they always do seem to be really flexible! I was concerned about this reservation because there was ZERO availability for my dates at ANY Marriott hotel (it's in Oregon for the eclipse), so cancelling and re-booking wasn't an option! Phew!
