Wrong number of adults on reservation

I made a reservation at a Marriott hotel using my Citi Prestige concierge. I noticed a few days after the reservation was made that my reservation only lists 2 adults when I wanted 3 adults. The room type is the same, two double beds. I booked an advance purchase rate that doesn't allow changes. Should I email my concierge/Marriott or is this not a big deal?

It could be a big deal. Where is the hotel? Some (especially overseas) charge more for a 3rd adult. Have you tried a dummy booking at the hotel to see if the rate changes with 3 adults vs 2?

That sounds like a problem to take back to the Citi Prestige concierge, frankly.

London. Dummy booking results in the same price. The prices in the confirmation email were the same as the rates I initially fed to the concierge, so I completely overlooked the amount of adults in the confirmation email.

Call the hotel directly. Ask them if there will be a problem accommodating 3 adults. If they tell you it's okay, great. If they tell you it's not allowed or is allowed but only with a surcharge, take it up with Citi Prestige to fix their mistake.

Definitely could be an issue in London. Your room could easily have two twin beds or just one bed.

The concierge took care of it. First, they tried dealing with the corporate number but were declined because no changes were allowed on advance purchase rates. Then they called up the hotel directly and got them to change it to 3 adults.

These things are always best dealt with by calling the property directly. Especially in Europe where room capacity may be a fire code issue. Even more, people who may say no to their corporate types will say yes to you as a customer because they value your goodwill.

If it's a problem, it's going to be a problem and you might as well know it directly from the property. If it's not a problem, it's a 30-second call with a quick note on the file and you can rest easy.
