Marriott will not take the points out of your account if you call them and ask them to hold and not remove the points. This gives you the best of both worlds. As the months move forward the answer will become clearer to you since both points and revenue may move up. This will give you a chance to look for LNF rate or possibly revenue will move down. Right now keeping both options open is your best bet. Also, have made enquires with the GM as to the possibility of using revenue for part of your stay and points for another part of your stay. I sometimes find that dealing directly with the hotel, in particular the GM, can be more successful than going through Marriott worldwide reservations.

Yikes, I just checked the Marriott website again and our balcony room, AAA rate, is now $399/379 with NO valet parking included.
Glad I grabbed it when I did. I think I had mentioned we had wanted to go this year, but a few months out everything was in the $400-500 range for those nights. Crazy. |
